It's a big hit at our home. I cook for gatherings pretty regularly and made spaghetti in a meat sauce. I added hot Italian meat balls for an added treat and everyone loved them. Needless to say it will be a staple in my home from now on. Thanks you for having such a great product. PS your backwoods breakfast sausage is already a staple ant the Boddye kitchen
I followed the instructions for 5 pounds of ground chuck, but added about a half of a teaspoon of granulated pink salt. This stuff make some of the best homemade beef sausage!
Nice mix and no worries. I do add more pepper flakes, since I am one of those that like HOOOOOOT.
I think this is the best flavor for deer/pork sausage. Very easy to use.
Love your spices and how they come for 25 LB batches and larger
Was very good! Made deer sausage with it.
Great tasting and easy to use.
this is my favorite
My wife really likes this seasoning, and it definitely makes a solid Hot Italian sausage without much effort. It's convenient and the flavor is consistent. For me personally, I prefer making my own blend from scratch. I use fresh minced garlic and grind whole black pepper, and that fresh-ground flavor just hits better for my taste. The Backwoods mix is good — just not as bold or fresh-tasting as what I make myself. But that's preference. My wife enjoys this one more, so if you like a straightforward, balanced Hot Italian flavor without doing all the grinding and mixing yourself, this is a good pick.
The blend of spices seem to be ok, yet on the weak side. It has a nice aroma during the mixing and packaging process prior to freezing, but once thawed, the aroma of breakfast sausage is very mild, and after cooking the flavor was very mild.
