Was looking to upgrade from my old slicer and not break the bank. This is a compact powerhouse. I highly recommend this slicer. I love the options of so many slicing grades to choose from on the dial. I can now get a super thin slice of meat from it. It has way more power than I thought it would and handles well. I love the tray that slides easily underneath to catch food. If I had any con from it is the area on the tray that meets the blade area is super thin and can get food particles in that area. Little hard to get clean but that is it. The rest I just turn off and wipe down with soapy rag and then rinse with a wet range and dry and done. I even use it to cut my homemade bread. I bake sourdough boules and loaves of bread, and this give me uniform slices like the store. I love this slicer and you cannot beat it for the price. It is a little noisy, but the suctions on the bottom are so good I have to really fight to get it off the counters it is so stable.
used the new slicer for cutting up venison bacon. Worked great. Easy set up and cut consistently throughout the different pieces of meat we had to cut up. Easy clean up.
My original slicer broke a gear after mild use. I called LEM and they promptly sent me a new complete slicer. They were aware of the issue and sent me a new slicer free of charge and shipping. Otherwise, the old, and new slicers work excellent, easy to clean and very cost effective. Top notch customer service. I will purchase more LEM products for sure.
You MUST partially freeze the meat first if it is raw, otherwise it is difficult to slice. Cooked meat slices better but it cuts slow and overheats quickly, so you have to take breaks. Bought this to cut my own jerky meat at the house. IT is an okay product but would recommend going to the next one up for raw meat cutting, which is more of an industrial size one not really sized for in home use.
During second use the blade would stop turning and start making a loud click click sound, also the back plate that the meat rest against flexes making it hard to get consistent slices. I expected more from a LEM product. I will be returning the slicer.
we sliced bacon with this and do not feel it is easy to clean. food gets stuck in the slicing area and in the screws as well, I feel there are to many places that can hold bits of food. The table being plastic and fitting into the slot by a couple tabs is likely to break after a few uses. I was expecting a better quality in the workmanship
Did not like the way the table slides into that grove, it should be more smoother, cutting the meat was difficult, needed to apply pressure to cut and once you do that the cutting wheel slowed down, sometimes it even started gear teeth jumping, it's not that reliable, I tried their LEM meat grinder it's a top shelf product, but not that slicer
Very cheaply made. All plastic over heats when slicing simple turkey breasts. Save your money and buy a better quality machine.
Don't buy it. I've had 2 in the past 9 months and both have stripped out. Called LEM and they replaced them, but told me they were only good for 5 minute run time and then let them rest for 10 minutes. That does me absolutely no good. Use it for 5 minutes then let it rest for 10. LEM said it's because it's not belt driven
My wife and I really like our 8 1/2" meat slicer. We have sliced turkey, ham, chicken, cheese, bologna, dill pickles, and tomatoes. All were cut with the lighter blade from deli to 1/8" thickness. We also bought the heavier blade and have not yet used it. The slicer was fairly easy to clean, and the blades can easily be interchanged. It has been designed so that you will not reach the slicing blade with the plastic meat pusher. A great product for household use.
