Lender's Pre-Sliced Plain Bagels, 17.1 oz, 6 Count

As a family in the 80's, we did a lot of camping with our three kids. My favorite time was waking in the morning and putting my Lender's Plain Bagel in the toaster oven. It would just get crispy and a layer of Philadelphia Cream Cheese made a perfect breakfast. Still today these bagels make a great breakfast!!

I love the plain bagels ! I like to toast and then put butter, cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter or make a egg sandwich with swiss cheese. Their priced right. I like the texture of the bagels. Two shopping trips ago Walmart was out and I was so disappointed because I always stock up on my bagels ! So, my last order I bought 4 bags of Lender's Plain Bagels. I think you would like them if you tried them !

I love bagels so much that I can remember the very first time my Dad brought them home. I was about five years old. The smell of them toasting takes me right back to that day so many years ago. I've tried lots of bagels and these are authentic, reasonably priced and tasty.

For many years they were number one. A very large company bought them and immediately started skimping on quality and that completely ruined them. I stopped buying them at that time until recently when I gave them another chance and to my complete surprise they came out on top and more

I'm not comparing these bagels to any other brand. If you've had Lender's bagels and like them price is great. I may be jinxing myself, but they are always in stock. When I was a city girl a fresh bagel maybe still warm was easy to find. Now a country mouse with a mouse's purse Lender's bagels good bang for the buck.

ive been a fan of lenders for many years. its been my experience, after sampling more expensive brands, that lenders stands up well to microvaving, toasters, or toaster ovens. they are especially good after 25 seconds in the mw, then the toaster for about 1 min, then for a quick mini sandwich throw a couple of slices of great value sliced ham and cream cheese. fantastic! consumers out there; keep paying more for big names, or try lenders. you wont go back.

If you like soft bagels, Lender's Original Bagels are it. I remember the day when they made the bag with about 10-12 small bagels in it, so that you can eat them sparingly. But one big bagel gives you the same texture as if you were eating a smaller one. The softness helps with the teeth as well. Ask me how I know. ;-)

Your first choice in a bagel should always be freshly made. That said, if you can't get to a bakery or even the local bakery section of the grocery store, these will fill in ok. They're very chewy though. so after you toast them and spread whateer you spread on them, you'll likely want to cut them with a serated edge knife into 5 equal sections. If you don't, you will be wearing all that spread in your lap. It's very hard to bite off a piece because they're so chewy. The flavor is good, but I really suggest cutting them into bit-sized pieces.

I'm tired of buying bagels only for them to have mold on them after a day or two. I don't have to worry about that with these frozen ones. The bagels have a decent taste, and are really good with cream cheese. I'm going to try the blueberry ones the next time I crave bagels.

This is not the first time ordering these bagels. And I didn't have a problem in the past. But it seems to me that they are not the same. The freshness is not there as before. I don't know if they are old and not checked for the length of time refrigerated.. other than that, I will try them once more.
