Lenovo Ideapad 5 15.6" Laptop, AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Abyss Blue, Windows 11 Home, 82SG00BLUS

Context: I use the laptop for word processing, spreadsheets, email, browsing, and Zoom. I can't comment on graphics or video games or any other high-intensity use. Each model provides new features that you have to get used to. The hardware is basic and performance to meet my needs. No waiting for apps to load, or lagging commands. Plenty of storage space. Keys are soft. The touchpad is just right. The number keys are handy. There are no instructions on the keyboard. The only issue, which may be in most laptops, is that you need to take a day getting the operating system to stop providing stuff you do not want to deal with - like an advertising bar, reminders to purchase software, unexpected things popping up, and widgets that you don't want in the screen. For some it is fine but I found it a nuisances. The advances in laptops are a blessing and a curse.

Needed laptop fairly quick, never had lenovo before but it had good reviews an was in stock. Needed it for automotive work and it was medium priced. Was easy to set up. Seems to be working fine. So far very happy with it. Only time will tell.

Nice little laptop. Good for general purposes. I like this brand processor over HP so that was a decision maker for me. Either line would be fine and plenty of storage for the average person. Fires up fast and works great. Price was good too.

Linux friendly and incredibly powerful given the price. I'm not sure how it performs under Windows because the first thing I did was make a backup image of the factory configuration and then wipe that garbage off the drive. But under Debian Linux it absolutely screams in terms of performance. For the $400 sale price I couldn't have asked for a better computer.

The shipping was delayed so I received it later than promised. It was clearly used. It had fingerprints and dirt on the outside and inside, some of the stickers were peeling, and the manuals were missing. I needed a laptop to start a new job so I had no choice but to keep it and use it.

This was supposed to be a new laptop with Windows 11 home installed just receive it started it up and it has Windows 10 which is no longer supported by Microsoft as of October 14 2025, and of course there's no customer service because Lenovo says that this laptop does not have a warranty because it's out of warranty because of the age. I guess I know what I will be taking back to Walmart.

My opinion may be biased - as I believe the processor may be corrupt. It kept shutting down during the install process. Once I did get my profile installed, the entire laptop would freeze after about 5 minutes of running. I would have to hard reboot it get it to work again. I started removing all the crap that's auto-added from the factory, but it kept freezing during that process and eventually (not due to what I removed) it started saying there was an error loading and would not load/turn on at all. I am returning it for a refund.

The vendor advertises as New and it was nothing but used. The price was as new, but it wasn't new. It would be one thing if the vendor advertises used with a discounted price, but it was a used item with normal pricing.

Hard drive was defective from the beginning. Super slow processor. I returned it %26 bought a better laptop with an Intel processor, %26 bigger hard drive for less money. Look around before you invest in this laptop b/c you probably could do better.
