Lenovo ideapad S340 15.6" Laptop, Intel Core i7-8565U Quad-Core Processor, 8GB Memory, 256GB Solid State Drive, Windows 10 - Dark Orchid - 81N800T9US

My previous laptop worked pretty good until the HDD crashed unexpectedly (I had non SSD HDD). After an extensive research, I came to know about this model and decided to purchase it. Now after using the laptop for few months, I realize I made a very good purchase. This laptop has awesome design (or make), and is light weight, super fast (combination of i7 processor, SSD HDD, and 8 GB RAM). I honestly have not found any drawbacks or disappointments as of now. I highly recommend this laptop. It is the best laptop I ever owned.

Purchased for my wife and she loves this laptop for her business, she takes it everywhere and is able to get her work done. She loved the color and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

This Lenovo Ideapad S340 with the i7 8th generation processor is pleasingly fast and has not given me any reason to be displeased with my purchase decision so far. The 15.6 inch screen certainly is not as pleasing as the 17 inch that I had before, but is sufficient. As with most laptops now, this machine does not come with a built-in DVD burner, necessitating adding an external device if needed(an additional $50+). I was pleased to find that this laptop instantly recognizes any add-on equipment, such as DVD Burner and a 10 year old printer, without any special set-up procedures. The battery charge life appears to be only average, although at this point I can not give a definitive answer as to time. In summary, as a laptop in normal household usuage by one person, purchased at an after Christmas sale price, this appears to be an excellent machine.

I bought this laptop for only $299 with a two year plan. It was great for the price! I use it for school work, streaming TV/Movies, gaming, and drawing. I was iffy about the storage, but its actually pretty good! I also like the dark orchid color for the laptop. The only problem I have is the battery life. For me it only lasts for about three to five hours. Otherwise I'd give it a 7.5/10!

I've had this for quite some time now and put it to satisfactory use. It sees primary use by me as it replaced a desktop and is connected to an external monitor, keyboard, mouse and HDs. It is super fast and boots up within seconds. Apps launch with lightning speed. My first complaint may be just a laptop thing, as someone told me that's what it is, but the graphics get weak with gaming. It's decent with some games and has surprised me, and poor with others that I didn't think would be so demanding. Another complaint is every once in a while the wifi cuts out and to remedy this I just click on the wifi signal icon. That's it, my internet gets restored. That could be a Windows 10 thing, which is what it came with. It's not enough to really concern me and the laptop was worth what I paid for it. Lenovo broke me away from being a loyal HP consumer with this.

This is a nice laptop/notebook, with Windows 10. I would have liked it to have a DVD/CD drive also but those can be purchased cheaply and easily used via USB port. I also missed getting with the pc a manual but understand that the complexities of Windows 10 would require a large textbook style manual. So, users need to be prepared to learn via usage, to become familiar with Windows 10. Tho I was only familiar with Vista, I had a relatively easy time transitioning to Win 10. Only rather difficult issue was using the touchpad. It has different spots on it that you MUST learn to access via touch to activate some important functions. I could not properly access the right click touch. Thought there was a problem with the pc itself! But I researched the Internet and found a good and short description of the Lenovo touchpad, accurate usage of same. That was a proverbial ray of bright light that made my Lenovo a very very pleasant user tool. Interestingly, per my Internet musings, found many with issues re problematic right click. Yes, it was/is tricky. tip - for right click, touchpad area is the extreme lower right corner. This Lenovo is a very sweet computer, a good price, and a great purchase experience from Walmart, store is only a few minutes from my home.

Great Laptop for the price! The screen is Low Res so don't expect to watch High Def videos in their full glory. But for all other applications this laptop is just fine. And again really can't beat that price for an 8th gen i7 with 8gm ram, SSD and a 15.6" screen.

I reviewed this 5-6 days ago, WM simply did not print it. Not as advertised. I returned it in 48 hours. MOST of the reviews are from the LENOVO website. Not at all the same laptop. Check out NEWEST REVIEWS FIRST, NOT MOST RELEVANT.

this laptop does not have a clear screen comparing to my cheaper old one besides the battery dies very fast WOULD NOT RECOMEND FOR ANY ONE NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

Despite being the S340 model, this computer does not have a backlit keyboard as the reviews and all other specifications may have you believe. Apparently there are two versions of the S340, one with a backlit keyboard, and one without. No effort was made to make this distinction clear. If this is a feature you want, do not buy!
