LENOVO THINKPAD T490 14 HD NOTEBOOK

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been a 'T' user for a few generations now and the T490 lives up to this great line of laptops. It's a bit smaller than my old T470 with no sacrifice in usability, durability or screen size. Great laptop. Just wish Lenovo offered a few more configurations to get exactly the features I preferred but I found a powerful setup with the 4.8Ghz, 16 GB RAM that is quite peppy. Also, wish Lenovo would allow the backlit keyboard to remember the selection after a reboot so I don't have to change it every time....but that's a loooong story that you can find in the forums ;)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Lenovo T-490 with Core I-7, 8 gb of ram, and 512 SSD needing something for work and school. I must say that I come from a devoted Macbook Pro owner for many years but I needed a PC due to research programs and compatibility. For me, this PC has lived up to my standards with no issues to report after heavy use for approx. 2 months. Some of the features I admire are the HD screen, the keyboard experience, the touchscreen and the USB type C charging. I would buy this laptop again if I had to do it all over again with no regrets. At the $1000 price point, you get what you pay for and I believe that I got my money's worth with the Lenovo Thinkpad T-490. If you are on the fence about his computer, do youself a favor and stop worrying and just buy it! Swapping out the 8gb and put a 16 gb in it's place in 5 mins. Nothing complicated here. Cough, cough .... Apple.

Did a custom build and got my computer in exactly one week. Fast and easy shipping. A few weeks in the computer is fantastic. I installed Ubuntu (20.04) right out of the box and have had no issues. The Nvidia graphics card will run hot but newer drivers have the ability to combat it

I will report back if anything changes. Hopefully it won't and I will remain happy with my purchase. PS. Full disclosure... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Heavy duty, yet lightweight. Wicked fast. Boot faster than even my Mac. This is my third ThinkPad. Replaces a unit I've run for eight years without mishap or complaint. Too early to assess battery service and life.

Now that I have gotten more used to the difference in Microsoft functions, it has become my essential work from home device. Streaming is also great.

I am blown away by this laptop! So far it has proven to be every bit as capable as my old tower and when coupled with the docking station, I can easily run my 2 monitors. This is a gem.
