[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've made the switch at our organization to move to only using the Lenovo ThinkStation Tiny's, they have all the performance of a large case desktop while occupying a small space in our workstations! My end users love them and so does my IT team!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This system is extremely beneficial for someone who wants the ability to have a mobile office workstation. The upgrade capabilities make it futureproof, and its modular design makes it very compatible with a wide array of Lenovo products and other peripherals.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked the ThinkStation P3 Tiny GEN 2 due to the impressive specs in such a small package. For daily use for basic Home/office tasks. I am currently thinking of a new use case as a home entertainment PC for my projection setup to access my NAS for media and game emulation.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tiny Gen 2 is a testament to the idea that great things come in small packages. As a 1-liter workstation, it redefines the concept of a powerful desktop, packing professional-grade performance into a form factor that is an astonishing 96% smaller than a traditional tower PC. This review explores what makes this machine a compelling choice for professionals in space-constrained environments. 1. Design and Build: A Masterclass in Compactness The most striking feature of the P3 Tiny Gen 2 is its diminutive size. At just 1 liter in volume, it's designed to disappear from your workspace. It can be mounted behind a monitor with an included VESA bracket, tucked away in a cabinet, or simply placed on a desk without clutter. Despite its size, the build quality is robust, meeting MIL-STD-810H durability standards, which means it can withstand shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures. The tool-less access to its internals is another thoughtful design choice, making upgrades and maintenance surprisingly straightforward. 2. Performance: More Than Meets the Eye Under the hood, the ThinkStation P3 Tiny Gen 2 is a true workstation. It's configurable with Intel Core Ultra processors and optional NVIDIA RTX professional graphics, including the RTX A1000. This combination delivers serious power for data-heavy tasks, AI workflows, and professional applications. The Intel Core Ultra processors, with their integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), provide a significant boost for AI inferencing, while the optional NVIDIA GPUs add further acceleration for tasks like rendering and real-time playback. According to various benchmarks, the system handles complex workloads effectively, demonstrating solid performance in fields like engineering, media production, and financial services. It's not a gaming rig, but its capabilities are well-suited for its intended professional audience. The P3 Tiny Gen 2 also supports up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and up to three M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs, providing ample room for multitasking and fast data access. 3. Connectivity and Features: Well-Connected and Secure For a tiny machine, the P3 Tiny Gen 2 is impressively well-equipped. It offers a generous array of ports, including USB-C (20Gbps), multiple USB-A ports, DisplayPort, and HDMI. With an optional discrete GPU, it can drive up to six independent displays, a feature that significantly enhances productivity for professionals who rely on multi-monitor setups. It also includes Wi-Fi 7 and Gigabit Ethernet for high-speed networking. Security is a core focus, with features like a discrete TPM 2.0 chip and ThinkShield solutions protecting sensitive data. Lenovo also backs the device with extensive ISV (Independent Software Vendor) certifications, ensuring smooth and reliable performance with a wide range of mission-critical software like AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS. 4. Final Verdict The Lenovo ThinkStation P3 Tiny Gen 2 is an outstanding solution for professionals who need workstation performance without the bulk of a traditional desktop. Its compact, well-engineered design, coupled with powerful components and a rich set of connectivity options, makes it a top-tier choice for a wide range of industries, from engineering to creative fields. Its strengths in performance, form factor, and professional-grade features far outweigh its some weaknesses. If you're looking to maximize your productivity and minimize your desktop footprint, the P3 Tiny Gen 2 is a serious contender.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ThinkStation P3 Tiny Gen 2 (Intel) Workstation is compact but meets all of the needs we were looking for in a desktop computer. The only drawback that we have found is that the speakers within the workstation put out minimal sound, so we had to utilize an external speaker.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it for my daughter. It is small in size as name says it all. It is fast in processing and easy to set up. I used it for over a week and so far love the product. I have great experience with Vantage service to maintain the health of my laptop and computer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine offered an exceptional solution to replacing my warehouse packing stations from Windows 10 to Windows 11. It's not easy finding a workstation that supports the number of USB ports needed to run the attached machines and applications in our environment but, this one does. With the Display Port/HDMI I can easily connect an older VGA monitor while also support Zebra printers, Kyocera networked printers, and Metler Toledo scales plus a separate scanner. All at a price that I found was within my budget and beating most all of competition when comparing apples-for-apples in horsepower. I bought three and two have gone in without an issue so far.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has really good airflow which I think was lacking in previous models. Sturdy, fast and very compact. I think the vertical stand could be more stable. A couple more USB ports would be nice and a 3.5MM audio out would also be nice.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ThinkStation P3 Tiny is a perfect fit for my needs, and I like its form factor very much. It is fast, productive, and has improved my workspace a lot - I have swapped out my Dell All-In-One Desktop. When I needed to install Linux, the BIOS refused to recognize my big USB drive. It took me about 2 days to figure out how to do it. The fan is another issue. Even when it is not under load, there is a small noise that is noticeable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After Lenovo took over a month to honor their warranty for the identical Tiny, I was shocked at how quirky this unit is. Processing delays of seconds, ignoring mouse clicks and background fugue states without any indication of what it is doing have me puzzled but after the horrible Lenovo support on my last Tiny's motherboard crash, I'm not wasting any more time with them, just gritting my teeth over the bad decision to stay with any Lenovo.
