Les Miserables: 25th Anniversary

Beautiful musical. Music is sung with emotions that carry you with the story. A joy to watch the stars through the years singing together.

This musical is one I was very excited to see. I had seen the movie drama version before. I watched it the night I got it. I laughed and I cried. It was one of the most amazing live musicals I have ever seen I bought tickets to a show. I keep watching the movie and I get more and more excited. I also can't stop singing the songs.

Having seen Les Miserables on the stage several times over the years I was afraid that this concert performance might be lacking was pleasantly surprised! This all-star cast provides an overwhelming rendition of the musical score which sets a new entertainment standard. At the end the show the joining of this cast with members of the 1985 cast for several of the signature songs is a fantastic bonus to an overwhelming performance. Not to be missed! Bravo!

I saw this on PBS and had to own it. It looks even better on my home theater setup thanks to the extremely high quality of this BR DVD. The performances are excellent, the colors beautiful, and the sound is fantastic. A must own.

I am a HUGE Les Miz fan...and there is just something so captivating about the music!!! I was not familiar with the actors on this recording except I "knew" who Nick Jonas was (I have a pre teen daughter) and I was familiar with the woman who played the Inn Keeper Wife. The new Jean Val Jean was surprisingly good, although I am still partial to the original. I was very much entertained, HOWEVER, the BEST PART was the end when the ORIGINAL CAST from 25yrs ago joined them in a reprise of some of the main songs. I nearly fell off the sofa when the original Jean Val Jean appeared!!! Pure heaven for me. I just loved hearing the 4 Jean Val Jean's singing "Bring him home!" For the fans who were actually in attendance...this was a chance of a lifetime. Since I was not able to attend...this DVD brought the plethora of emotions back to me and gave me a night of pure bliss. I was a bit disappointed in the QUALITY of this recording...I just expected the BLU RAY aspect to produce a Crystal Clear video and audio recording; SO...I was surprise by the "grainy-ness" of of both the video and audio aspects of this recording. Nevertheless...I still loved it, would definitely recommend this to anyone, and I am so GLAD that I made this purchase.
