Leslie Sansone: Mix & Match Walk Blasters [DVD]

I mix and match what suits me each day using the 10-minute workouts. Leslie suggests walkers use the first as a warm-up each time, but mixing it with one or two of the others enables me to keep it fresh and new. Love this. Wish she had put in one more for warm-up, though.

Leslies tapes are always what I need. these mini workouts are great when I do not have much time.

I haven't been doing the Leslie Dvd's long, however, I have purchased several over the summer months. And this one I feel is her BEST one yet of what I got.. .I use it EVERYDAY. To start my day, and catch up on steps in the evening if I am behind a bit. I LOVE how you can only do 10 minutes at a time. So if you are running short on time, or have time to spare, you can adjust it to fit your needs. I love that about this. And theres different walks to choose from. Slow, Medium, Fast, and even a DANCE Walk, (which is pretty much basic ZUMBA moves. Which is my FAVORITE!)... I try to reach 15-20,000 steps a day. And Leslie has been helping me to get there everyday with her Dvd's. This one in particular. I highly recommend. I may even get one for my mom.

I love these workouts and I am just beginning to get active again after a terrible year in my life. Leslie Sansone is such an inspiration. A friend gave me my first Leslie Sansone DVD recently and it is already helping me get active in just the right speed and level.

I recently purchased 2 Leslie Sansone workouts- this one and her Ultimate 5 Day Walk Plan (purchased in store)- and I have to say this one is far and away the better of the two. There are 10 mini-walk's and 3 pre-selected walks using those mini-walks (Advanced, Fun & Complete Body). The mini-walk's are a little deceptive in that, with the exception of Light Walk and Flexibility Walk, you can't just dive in and ten minutes later you're done. Light Walk is the warm up walk which you are expected to do before the other walks (though it does work very well as a quickie walk on its own) and you are expected to end your walk using Flexibility Walk so while these are supposed to be 10 minute walks that's not realistic. I haven't done all of the mini's yet however, for the ones I have: Interval Walk was good however, her Walk Indoors Interval! is much tougher- these are 30 second interval's where you will jog up, jog in place, jog back. You'll feel it but you won't fall apart afterward. Dance Walk: the dance part of this is mambo's and cha-cha footwork. I am NOT coordinated but using rewind a few times I was able to muddle through and feel a little more confident about doing it next time. It's one of those things where I'll do it but I won't necessarily go looking for it to do. Light Walk: it is. It's a nice light walk which, as I've mentioned, is the warm-up but also works as a stand alone. Leslie mentions that you won't need to shower after and that's exactly right- I would feel comfortable not doing a cool down after this walk. It just gets you up and moving. Walk, Kick + Jab Walk: Again, I'm not coordinated and this did require some coordination but I managed for the most part. I felt like the emphasis was on punching so kind of think of this as more of an upper body workout. ( The pre-selected Fun Walk is made up of Light Walk, Dance Walk, Walk Kick + Jab and Flexibility Walk. ) Brisk + Steady Walk was just what it says- you aren't going to be sweating buckets at the end of it but you're going to know you've been walking. Tummy Trimmer Walk: Really enjoyed this one. Changed up some of the basic steps in creative ways and I think I will come back to this one often as I've caught myself incorporating those changes into other walks. Flexibility Walk: this is the cool down and I really like it. I'm already using it with other workouts because these stretches are fantastic. Usually Leslie's cool down's consist of arms over your head 3 times, stretch hamstrings each side arms over your head twice more- not this one. This one is really good. The down side for me is that there's no walk meter (or countdown clock for that matter)- I really like to have one- and while I really enjoy Flexibility Walk I don't feel like I can count it toward my mileage total so I end up doing another short walk after. I try to commit to walking 3 miles a day and I can easily see myself coming back to these segments as part of that as well as mixing them in with other Leslie Sansone workouts I have.

I have been doing Leslie's in home walking workouts for years and am always excited for new ones. Normally I don't enjoy the segment based workouts because the transition tends to throw me off but this one flows pretty well from one segment to the next. There are a few pre-planned workouts that incorporate select segments for total body workout, advanced, or fun... or you can customize your workout by selecting any number of segments in any order you choose. Very easy to do so. I also like that no matter what workout you choose, you can play normally or play with music only. The dance segment isn't really that much dancing... it incorporates the mambo step and the basic cha cha step. None of the segments are tremendously challenging but enough that you will break a sweat. If you are used to her higher intensity workouts, you might find these to be rather easy going. But it is a nice workout dvd for during a busy work week when you might not have time to do that 4 or 5 mile walk every day.

Really like to clock the # of miles that Leslie usually does in her tapes..this is a good change of pace exercise. You can create your own segments which at done in 10 min blocks...Nice change of pace and really gets your heart rate up. Add my Fitbit and I can clock miles myself.
