Lewis Bake Shop Sourdough Half Loaf Bread, 1/2 Loaf, 12 oz

Perfect for those who know they won’t make it through a whole loaf. Good tasting sourdough. The powder on the crust is not mold. It’s normal for sourdough to have flour or starch on the dough which kept it from sticking to the proofing basket. Or it could be a dusting powder used when baking. Perfectly normal and safe.

This is the first time I’ve ever eaten sourdough bread. I never bought it because I didn’t think I would like it. Lewis Bake Shop sourdough bread is delicious. It was fresh, portion size is perfect for sandwiches or toast. I will definitely buy this bread for me and my family.

I really love this Lewis Bake Shop sourdough bread! I made a delicious sandwich with steak and eggs and it held up with the weight of all the contents and tasted wonderful! My only complaint is only getting a half loaf. This wonderful bread can take a regular old sandwich and make it so much better! I definitely recommend this product to anyone!

Really good bread. I really liked that it was half loaf so none of it was going to waste. I really enjoyed the flavor. Great texture, was not a dry bread. 10/10 would recommend. Made a great ham and cheese sandwich. My next adventure is a blt.. Yumm!

I’m loving the Lewis Bake Shop sourdough bread! It comes in a nice sliced half loaf with slices that are not too thin! They are absolutely delicious and make the very best grilled cheese ever! Of course I’m happy to eat it straight out of the bag, or toasted with butter. I’m the only one of my family that enjoys the sourdough, so a half loaf is perfect for me!

The taste of the sour dough is just right. Not too strong not too light. The bread is actually also really soft. I’ve used some sour dough breads in the past and didn’t care much for them because they were hard or too strong of the sour dough taste. This one was great for me! Everything was “just enough.”

Overall, this bread is quite average. What disappointed me the most is the appearance. The slices are uneven and oddly shaped, which doesn’t look as neat as typical bread. The taste is also pretty plain when eaten on its own. I found it better when toasted in an air fryer with cheese, but it doesn’t have much flavor by itself. Overall, it’s better when prepared with something else. If appearance or taste matters to you, this might not be the best choice.

The bread arrived Saturday by USPS. I served it to my husband with his dinner that night and toasted two pieces for myself. When we talked about it we both admitted it did not taste like sourdough to us, but regular white bread. It lacked that unique sourdough taste. It was soft and very delicious, just not very sourdough like. I would buy it even though it did not have the traditional sourdough flavor.

I have never reviewed a Walmart item, but I will go out of my way to offer some sentiment. The portion size is give or take 1/2-3/4 that of a normal slice of sourdough…I really like that! However, for the packaging to suggest this offers a “taste of San Francisco” is sacrilegious. This is NOT in any stretch of imagination a product that is remotely close to sourdough. This is white bread. The false advertisement is disheartening and unfair, esp to buyers such as myself who placed a mobile order and could not decipher reality in person by inspecting the product. Sigh.

Ordered two loaves of sour bread dough and came with a sticker that said best if used by three 16 26 and it was delivered on 3/17 of 26th so obviously it’s stale
