Great price from WM. Tool works well in tight places where you need to reach plug in slight angle
This is a great fit for Audi 2014 Q5 or 5/8 size spark plugs. Helped me succeed in my first DIY.
Great quality socket. Make sure you have a 3/8 drive for it. Allowed me to change my spark plugs
Great quality product that works correctly
Literally just changed the spark plugs on our 2016 Toyota Camry at the specified 120,000 mile mark. Awesome tool! The magnet is nice and strong, preventing the dropping of the plugs at removal and install. This is particularly critical when installing the new plugs. Some videos on YouTube recommend *dropping* the plugs in...kind of insane, considering that you'd be dropping them where they can be easily damaged. Love everything about this...the knurled strip where you use your fingers to begin screwing in the plug, to the wobble joint where the socket is attached to the extension, to the phenomenal magnet that firmly holds the plug in place. Incredible tool. For those who got a broken magnet...send it back...mine held up easily throughout the process of four plugs...it'll be ready when it's needed in a couple of years. Just get it! Cheers!
I'm convinced that car manufacturers purposely design engine bays so that everything is just out of reach of a standard Sears Craftsman set of tools. Inevitably, I find I need some specialized tool to do something that should be straightforward, and invariably this discovery is made after I've already successfully removed a dozen parts. In any case, one item that falls into this category is the clogged spark plug, which is always the one which is just out of reach of my standard toolset. in fact, that's how I usually make the diagnosis - which spark plug can't I reach? That's the one which I need to change. So along comes this long, swiveling, magnetic spark plug socket. Perfect, and it solves all the usual difficulties by being long enough that the socket handle doesn't hit something as I try to get the plug out, by swiveling enough that I can get the socket on the plug even though I'm off kilter a bit, and by staying on the plug while I start to get leverage. Way better approach, and now part of my standard car toolbox.
Used this to swap out the spark plugs on my significant others car, and this has made it the easiest replacement I’ve ever done. Since it is magnetic and not a rubber grommet that keeps the plug it was much more reliable and confident that it was on there. Fantastic tool attachment. Feels durable and well made!
This tool is amazing and a must have for spark plug changing! I actually can't imagine doing the job without this tool now! With the slight "swivel" the tool is able to do, it makes the job so much easier. I also love how tight it holds onto the spark plug so no chance of falling down the engine bay. I'm really glad I researched and found this before doing the job the "old" way! If you're thinking about it... Buy it!
Anyone who has ever changed a set of spark plugs in a vehicle has probably experienced the socket extension coming off of the spark plug socket. You can try to put tape on the extension or be careful, but it always seems to happen. Additionally, a lot of modern cards make it so hard to get in to remove the plugs without a swivel, so this tool solves both those problems at once. It's made of a nice quality Chrome Vanadium steel and has a free moving ball joint that makes it easy to turn even at a tight angle. The end is magnetic and is clearly marked with 5/7 so you know what size plugs these are for at a glance. I just changed my plugs with this and it was great. A really nice tool that I will probably have for the rest of my life.
The tool is well made and works in most instances. There is a shoulder on the socket that is big enough so it will not fit down the hole to the spark plug on some vehicles. It is just big enough to prevent its use on my ZX9R ninja motorcycle. I am keeping it though for other uses.
