I bought my first 4K Blu-ray of the same model and it was so good I bought another one, picture quality is next to none, can`t fault it and it plays 3D movies when put through a 3D TV. Best machine ever and will be a longtime before it is dated.
This is a nice accessory to that new 4K TV.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very pleased with our purchase. Easy set up and great picture.
After ordering this player from Amazon on two separate occasions (the first one failed to work at all, as well as the second) I returned them for a refund and ordered from Walmart. Upon receiving the unit I was very happy when it worked instantly and perfectly as it should.
Purchased in August, 2020. Worked perfectly out of the box. Especially glad to see it plays older DVDs and DVDs that I have burned in the past. Excellent quality 4K picture with 4K DVD's. No problems yet, but I've only had it for less than a month. Also appreciate that I can use the DVD player using buttons on the front of the unit as well as with the remote, since we seem to misplace the small remote every day.
I already have a LG 4K UHD smart tv. I decided to get this LG 4K player. I didn't feel the need to get one with streaming since I have that on my tv. Setup was simple, use a high speed HDMI cable for it. It plays 4K discs beautifully and upscales my existing dvds and Blu-ray's really well. I recommend this player to anybody.
So far this product is worth the investment. I only have one complaint and that is it would not play certain types of videos through the u.s.b. port - Which a very inexpensive $50 personal DVD player had no problem supporting the avi format - this was a great disappoint to me - that I will learn to live with.
The device itself is fine. However I researched the device before I purchased it to ensure it supported CEC. It turns out that it will turn on a connected Monitor, but it DOESN'T accept incoming CEC controls. (Or at least not from a Denon AVR-X4400H amp, like the previous Samsung Blu-ray player did) My aim was to replace the Samsung Standard Blu-Ray with a 4K version, which I have done. But in the process I have lost all remote control via the Denon app or handheld remote. So I'm back to a shelf full of remotes again. For the price, it is perfectly acceptable, I'm just disappointed that the advertising suggested it did support CEC.
I bought this player on April 10th but I only got around to using it last night. I bought two 4k discs (Dunkirk and Justice League) to play on it to see the quality on my 4k TV. So last night I watched Dunkirk from beginning to end with no issues. I never forwarded or rewound any parts, just watched straight through. So this morning my sister arrives over to have a look at the picture quality so I loaded Dunkirk again and I started to encounter problems. If I tried to select a certain chapter to watch the player wouldn't load it and when I forwarded it the old fashioned way and pressed play at the point I wanted the movie would freeze at certain areas or not play at all. So I have briefly played around with my other new 4k disc (Justice League) and that seems to be selecting chapters and forwarding fine so I'm hoping it was just the disc with Dunkirk. I'll know more tonight when I sit down to watch it in full.
I bought it to watch a 4K film (I indeed used the required cable) and it wouldn't even read the disc. No biggie, the rest of my movies are blu-ray or DVD.. fast forward to just over a year with pretty limited use and the unit is all of a sudden obnoxiously loud. Would not recommend spending this kind of money on this unit to anyone.
