[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We went to buy a different freezer and we noticed this unit. We are very pleased after purchasing this. It's working better than what we expected. It's sleek and goes great with our other LG appliances.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a classic freezer, but when I saw this and installed at my house, this is I looking for
Pros: Very quiet, strong magnetic seal, strong vacuum when closing the door, super cold and efficient, my setting at mid-way got me at -5 near the inside top shelf. Cons: Shelves not adjustable, bottom bin for defrost-water, but I put a Turkey there for now until I need to defrost.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer is perfect size for our specific needs. We bought it as a replacement to an older, larger refrigerator-freezer combination which had been taking up too much space. This appliance is pretty quiet after it's been running for a few days, and is short and shallow enough to not take up too much space visually. Could have a shelve(s) above it if desired since it doesn't reach as high as a standard refrigerator-freezer. The only downside is that the shelves are fixed in place, so you can't easily remove one to accommodate a large frozen item. On the flip side, I think it's more efficient from a storage perspective to have multiple shelves instead of a few widely spaced shelves because you can fit in more smaller items and access them more easily than if they were all stacked up on each other. The freezer isn't very heavy so at first, the appliance will rock forward when you try to open the door because it's got a great seal on it. Don't worry! Once it's loaded with frozen items, the combined weight will keep it seated on the floor when you open the door. I paid full price for the appliance.
Works well, it's quiet and unobtrusive. I have it in the basement so unless I am standing next to it I do not hear it. I wish the shelves adjusted or could be removed; the spacing between sometimes needs some creative Tetris-ing to work.
The store had no smaller freezers. I saw this and purchased two. They keep things cold but shelfs do not adjust. You can't remove one for deeper products. .If I had been told that I would have looked at more options! Try putting a turkey in it !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in February because it was listed as an auto-defrost freezer, and was the size I was looking for. The size and capacity are perfect for my needs, and has a nice number of shelves to keep things organized. My only complaint is that I specifically purchased this product, paying much more than a normal freezer the same size, because it was listed as AUTO-DEFROST on the website of the company I purchased it from. Needless to say, once I received the product, I quickly learned it is a manual defrost freezer. Otherwise, the product is very well made, and is satisfactory in all other aspects.
We purchased this refrigerator because we love our other LG products...but this was disappointing. The overall size is okay--we wanted something smaller--but I didn't think to check that the shelves can not be shifted. Each pair of shelves are made from a single piece of material and curved to form the two shelves. They each have their own cooling mechanisms attached to them as well (or maybe it's a drain for auto-defrost?), so we aren't realistically able to remove one set. Additionally, each set is bowed so none of the shelf surfaces are actually flat. The bottom drawer isn't as deep as the rest of the freezer either--assuming that it's because that's where the motor is--so it holds very little. We will be replacing this freezer at our earliest opportunity.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Stopped working after two years. During the defrost, we unplugged the freezer for an hour or two. The freezer did start and refroze but warmed up. Seems like an electronic issue. Moving it to the garage I retested it and same… freeze then warm
Cannot adjust shelves. Frost is impossible to control I even bought frost-control pads for the shelves, but still the shelves end up with so much ice and frost, my freezer looks like a snow playground. I defrosted it but it builds up very quickly again. I have ice packs for back pain, which now smell moldy because of all the moist ice that sits on them, and everythig else in the freezer. Very disappointed. I also have a small Whynter freezer, which is also manual defrost - it does not have half of the frost that the LG has, and was made smarter with adjustable shelves that are wire. Don't know why LG could not have also made wire shelves that are adjustable. The only good thing about it is the capacity.
