Great TV far better than expected

MOOGLEYS August 20, 2022

I had a 65” OLED before this tv and wanted to go bigger without the cost that a 77” OLED would entail. Tbh I was not expecting much from the QNED coming from an OLED but to say I have been surprised is an understatement. Even though the TV uses an IPS screen which is generally shunned upon if you read online AV sites the contrast is fantastic. Blacks are black and the colours are bright and vivid. Tbh I actually prefer the way the QNED looks to the OLED I had before. My only real downsides to this TV are that only 2 of the hdmi ports are 2.1 spec why ? They should all be 2.1 in 2022 and the reflections are pretty bad. If you have a bright room or windows in front of the TV you will see a lot of reflections. It's a fantastic tv with a genuinely impressive picture quality.

LG 65QNED916PA mini led tv

Peterw15 September 8, 2023

I purchased this tv last September in a 65” version As a retirement present to my self replacing an Panasonic hd ready projector. Whilst I would have loved to get a OLED they were out of my price range. I'm more than happy with the picture quality sometimes I'm quite stunned by it.

THE PERFECT TV FOR MY ROOM

Tomekwoj1 December 14, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, I lived to see it. I was very excited when I saw him still in the box. Just unpacking and hanging on the wall took me literally a few minutes. Connection to all devices is incredibly easy and transparent. everything perfectly described. The first start-up and setting it up to my requirements was very simple and quick. The menu is very easy to use. Impressions after the first few days of use are amazing. Perfect image and even better. The number of applications is impressive. I keep discovering something new. The possibilities of this TV set are probably endless. I recommend it in 120%

Awesome LG QNED

Anonymous October 14, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not my first LG but it is my first mini LED set. Mini LED provides much more consistent and accurate zone backlighting than other sets. The set is capable of getting very bright which is great for rooms without light control and also for HDR. It gets so bright that even in my non- light controlled living room I can't run the backlighting at 100%. I have it turned down to 80 during daylight and 60 at night. I tested the built in apps and they are reasonably quick and work well. However outside of just testing them, I'll never use them. I use a separate streaming box for consistency across all rooms in my house. I followed a third party review site for my video settings and have them dialed in pretty well. Out of the box the set looks pretty good but it needs some tweaks to really see how good it is. The most important thing is turning local dimming to high. By default it is at low which causes a lot of blooming and really crushes blacks. For an LED set, the blacks are pretty good. Obviously nothing can touch OLED for black levels but on this set they are more than acceptable. The remote is pretty good but outside of using it for settings I have a universal remote I use instead. For a 75" TV this set has a very slim profile. I use a French cleat style wall mount and this set sits less than 2 inches of the wall. Makes for a really clean looking installation. This a premium set from LG that checks every box except for deep blacks. But that's to be expected from every set that isn't OLED. LG produces the best TV panels in the business. I received this set at a discount for my honest review.

Fantastic TV in bright rooms

andyholdaway January 27, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impressions of this TV are that it is amazingly bright in a well lit room. Tested it out with lots of youtube 4k dolby atmos videos and all were amazing to watch and hear. First real test was watching the film Gravity. It was so bright that I noticed details that I had never seen before in the opening part of the film. The blacks were also very black. Yes there is some light bleed, but it's not that noticeable, especially when LED local dimming is set to high. Good: Image quality is absolutely amazing - bright with good colour reproduction. Upscaling of SD and HD was great - found it hard to tell the difference between HD and UHD. Earc is great and meant I could use my soundbar with full dolby atmos support. Magic remote is very good - reminds me of using the Nintendo Wii. Bad: These are all minor points! You can use google assistant but you cannot cast video to the TV using chromecast. For a TV at this price I would have expected it to be a must have feature. Some issues with google assistant - asked it to display my photos, which worked, but only goes back for a limited number of photos, rather than being able to view all your google photos. I had to connect via wifi to setup the google assistant rather than wired - something the manual was missing, but it worked when connected over ethernet after that. Overall I would definitely recommend this TV and am very happy with my purchase.

Just.. WOW! An Experience

Catd42 March 6, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yeah this is nothing short of an amazing tv! I've been an LG fan for a good period of time now and still they are yet to let me down. I've upgraded now from a 49" to this 75" and the change is pretty big! Though amazingly this tv doesn't weigh that much more than the old one which was quite a surprise. I've got mine wall mounted in the living room and it simply looks fabulous. The viewing angles are superb and there are very little reflections on the screen as well which is a massive bonus for me considering we have windows at both ends of the living space that we have this installed. Wall mounting was easy enough, the fittings on the rear of the tv are a standard VESA sizing (400x400) and getting a bracket for this size is really quite easy. The only real issue was lifting it up to the wall mount since I'm not the tallest or the strongest, but we managed :) Screen quality here is nothing but amazing. I really like the different picture modes and have found them really quite well set, I have made a few adjustments to the brightness to really get the benefit of the minLED's but that's more of a personal thing really I think. Especially pleased with the FILMMAKER mode, the tv detects when I'm watching a film and automatically offers to switch into this mode, allowing us to enjoy our movies the way they were intended to be seen by the director. I didn't think it would make much difference but it really shows up, especially in big action scenes, the motions and movements and colours, it all looks so good! Not forgetting the Dolby Vision here, this is a definitive bonus and seems to really enhance the experience. I'm seeing this come up on all kinds especially the native apps on the webOS homescreen. Different streaming apps allow for the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos and they're a wonderful part of this tv. That nicely brings me onto the sound! I've always been a bit sceptic of this AI Sound thing and always thought it was a bit of selling jargon.. its not, its very apparent that this function works and is quite possibly at the best standard it has been to date! I ran the AI Sound setup, took a few seconds whilst it made a few odd noises, and that was it, DONE! The sounds from every source now fill the room really well and really bring out the depth of sound rather then just basic direct speakers. I'm really interested now in the LG Sounbar systems and think having one of those combined with this new tv tech could be a real game changer!

Beyond Expectation

k3vdv March 14, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Totally made up with this TV! The screen size is amazing, I didn't realise how big this would be on my wall but it's amazing! Really impressed with the 4k Ultra HD screen. The brightness and colours are amazing to see. These are enhanced greatly with the different viewing modes as well. Especially enjoying the 'Filmmaker' mode when watching movies, it gives movies much more depth in action scenes and various other important moments. The sound quality with the dolby atmos is brilliant. The immersive effect of the audio even from the TV speakers alone is just fantastic! Glad to see that all of the HDMI ports are 2.1 as well, really protects for future products and works amazingly well with the latest consoles and computer systems. Simply excellent! One thing I would like to point out is just how easy this was to set up. For me, the only difficult part was lifting it up onto the wall mounted we purchased. However, setting up the tv and logging into my LG account was really easy. You can do this on screen or via your mobile. I opted for mobile since I've used LG before and it linked my account right away. The viewing angles on this are great too. I was concerned about how far I might need to tilt the tv when it was on the wall but it honestly doesn't matter, the image is as clear as anything at every angle. I've done a couple of screentests since having this, different hi-res videos with bright and black testers and it has performed outstandingly well. It's very clear to see how the MiniLEDs work here and combined with the nanocell technology is an absolute champion. An amazing tv with top class features, highly recommend!

Cinema like experience at home

Agoosia March 6, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been testing my QNED91 over the past days and the first word that comes to my mind is WOW! I have upgraded from 40 to 75in and I must admit that at first the QNED seemed massive but after a short while we got used to the size. We have had the TV wall mounted – due to its size and weight, I would definitely suggest having 2 people to install. Although it is big but also slim and sleek so it does look good on the wall. The power cord could have been a little bit longer as we have to use an extension socket. We have used a basic tilt TV bracket which was easy to fix to the TV's universal fixing holes. The initial set up was extremely simple. Installing additional programs, like YouTube or logging in to streaming platforms was easy too – there was no need to type passwords; I just needed to scan QR code within the app to connect it to my account, simple! As I have already had an LG ThinQ app to control my washing machine, I have just added the TV to it, meaning that I can now use my mobile phone as a remote if needed and also with two clicks on my phone I can view and play any content of my phone to the TV. The remote itself is very small and simplified. In addition to the standard buttons, there is a point and scroll button and are also hotkeys dedicated to the main streaming platforms so with a press of one button you can open these directly. As for the picture quality – this is amazing – especially when watching any 4K content. For sure, LG didn't lie when they have mentioned the nearly-perfect black. All colours are so vivid, bright and crisp; the contrast is just perfect and the picture is very sharp. You can look at the TV from any possible angle and the quality of the picture is the same. With different picture modes to choose from, whatever you watch, it will be perfectly optimised. We have tried the standard and filmmaker modes as well as sports (husband is well impressed) and the game optimised mode for use with PS5 which made the game look a lot more realistic. The modes are well defined and so far I did not feel I needed to make any adjustments. The quality of the sound with Dolby Atmos is amazing too. Again, with various modes for sound, whatever you listen to will sound great. Another great feature is that I can connect my Bluetooth headphones wirelessly to the TV. I am well happy with my purchase and I would recommend this TV especially to someone who values good quality picture and sound and also lov

Impressive cinema experience

sarah1762 March 15, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to trying this new model of TV as it's quite an upgrade on the one we already had and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. We were used to 65 inch tv but even so, the jump to 75 was quite shocking. Our previous tv was just a standard 4K HD tv, and I can't say I noticed much of a difference in picture quality between the 2. If anything, I'd say the picture quality on non-HD channels was actually worse on the LG probably due to the larger size What I was most impressed with was the sound quality and the abundance of different options available, along with the fact that the built in microphone helps choose the best settings for you depending on background noise. This is a great feature and is perfect for when you want to watch a movie. We've always used a sound bar in the past but with this tv, there's no need. The built in speakers are awesome. The TV itself looks smart and I like how the base is in the centre as I think we'd have struggled to fit it on our tv unit otherwise. This tv would look awesome wall mounted, this is what we plan to do

Jack of many trades but there's masters out there

Potterified March 15, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first impression I had of the QNED 91 was that it is absolutely massive, this being my first 75" TV with 55" being the previous one. And actually it is the screen that has probably made the biggest positive impression on me. And while that is a good thing, I expected a little more from this premium LG TV in the sound department (more on that below). I wasn't enamoured with the way the panel goes up and down in its brightness in particular. You get blinded by the light in a bright scene irrespective of the natural lighting or room lighting, and that's really jarring. When it then gets down to a dim scene, the difference and the way in which the lighting is scaled down is uncomfortably sudden. Following some research into the matter, I changed some display settings and this resulted in a dramatic improvement in picture quality. So you will need to tweak the settings from what you get out of the box. The image quality when watching 4K content is amazing, much better than anything I have seen before and so immersive due to the size and sharpness brought about by the QNED technology. I have used 4K content off USB, Netflix and YouTube, all being very impressively displayed. Sound is a bittersweet point. I stopped using my soundbar with this TV because the inbuilt sound is loud enough in all directions, but I just can't find a setting that would allow the output to be a good match for the surround sound output (feeling) on my 2.1 soundbar. AI Sound probably comes closest to it but it does some very weird things when songs (or nursery rhymes!) are playing, as the voices sound almost "disjointed" from the music. Very unusual and not enjoyable at all. So, I've just had to set it to a very basic Standard setting which I feel is robbing me of something integral that I should be able to enjoy. At RRP, you are squarely in OLED territory, and well beyond the high-end LED territory or even QLED. So what it boils down to, I guess, is the viewing environment. In a well lit room, this TV should be a better option than OLED. And in that, it is top of the tree, if you can get over the sound challenges. Of course, the big caveat here is that the sound related shortcomings that I have identified should hopefully be fixable via software updates, so here's hoping LG addresses them and makes this a much more compelling proposition than it already is. I would recommend it as a high-end TV that you will enjoy the experience of owning.
