Fantastic LG OLED 55" Gallery TV

Boris Spyder May 3, 2025

We bought the wall mount version and it hasn't disappointed, absolutely flush mount to the wall, easy to install the TV mounting bracket and very clean looking. It was very easy to set up and the ThinQ app works fantastically. The picture is incredible, and the sound is good too even without a soundbar. Excellent.

Piece of art

rongood December 8, 2024

Hi all, just recieved this LG G4 83" and boy its a big box, soon unpacked it and got it hung on my front room wall. Its not to heavy but needs two to hang, once up i turned it on and found the screen prompts easy to follow and soon we were watching a few programs, i have had a few LG oleds and always found them to be very good screens to watch with superb detail but this latest G4 is the best i have ever seen, the picture is absolutely wonderful with rich colours and an almost 3d effect as good as looking out the window in real life. The remote has all you need to navigate around the various channels and other options and is very responsive with just a quick press and immediately does what you ask. The sound is up to the job as well with a good selection of different forms to suit every different screen type o f viewing, these are easily found on the onscreen menu. I dont think there is anything else out there that can match this oled tv for quality/looks and peformance so be assured you wont go wrong with LG's latest G4 range

Wonderful TV with Tremendous Display Qualities

J Stobbs August 20, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently bought this TV having conducted a lot of research and I must say we're not disappointed. The picture is great and even friends have commented what great colours and details it shows. We also bought the soundbar too and again it's great. Need to get my head round setting this up as not not the best at this sort of thing.

One of the Kind TV

Sogxy August 15, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product last month and since then I have never revisited cinema, the quality of picture and sound is dope/fantastic. Even without a soundbar there is a bass installed in it, you will never regret purchasing the LG OLED TV.

Frustrations and excellence.

JLennyB August 26, 2025

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 27th August 2025 Star rating: 3* The screen is a huge leap in progress from my old 1080p back lit led panel. Out of the box, the standard/default settings were not usable for shows such as FBI. The brightness and contrast settings needed change so as to see enough detail in the faces of black actors. I seem at the moment to have found a working setting I can live with. It would be useful to have an in built "test card" or gray scale that allowed settings to be derived with more confidence, particularly moving to an OLED panel where extremes are much wider. My old TV I played through my amplifier, connected through left and right channel copper cables. This facility i wanted to upgrade as the old method picked up mains hum. At the time of changing to the OLED TV I also purchased a new amplifier and so looked at how I might connect to it. The optical (Toslink) signal out from tge Tv seemed the way to go as the amplifier had an optical signal in to the DAC. I relished the thought of excellent sound. Tge signal was picked up by tgev amplifier and sound seemed sorted. That was until we could hear the sound falter, it seemed to lower in volume, very briefly and not with predictable time intervals. I had two brands of optical cable and the stutter I heard was tgd sane with both. To rule out the amplifier I connected an old Xbox one to the TV as this had an optical out itself. The audio was faultless, ruling out both a problem with the amplifier and the cable. I might add that tgevamplifier also displays the frequency of the connection when the optical cable is connected. Mist tines even during the stutter this display stayed constant. Then very intermittently the frequency value would disappear very briefly. I have no other conclusion that the problem resides with tge LG TV. However this is not an isolated case as I have read about it on an AvForum. https://www.avforums.com/threads/lg-g4-optical-toslink-stutter.2520145/ This problem seems to exist, but not every G4! The suggestions made in the forum I have tried and to no avail. It still stutters. The only reason I haven't sent it back is that I can use the Blutooth connection to my amplifier. Again this has issues, the TV recognised I would try and connect to my amplifier via the Wireless speaker option and so offered to always connect as a default. Although I have chosen this option it does not do this all the time, subsequently I have to go into settings and manually connect the amplifier to the TV. I ensure the amplifier is switched on first and set to the Blutooth mode so that the Tv can identify it and make the connection automatically. When it does, the process is smooth and faultless. When it doesn't it is frustrating. I haven't yet managed to find an option that allows me to reaffirm my default connection to the amplifier via Blutooth. These are the reasons for only awarding a very promising Tv 3 stars.

Very disappointed

AL_OLED May 28, 2026

Bought the TV as it was advertised with 5 year warranty. Just after a year a blue line has appeared. When I checked the warranty, it said only 1 year as apparently I had to register - this was not communicated anywhere in the process. Never again as a principle.

Reliabilty concerns

Jim 25 July 19, 2025

Was very happy initially. Brilliant picture and anti glare really works. After a power cut initially it was though that the sound bar had failed.Replaced, but turned out the TV was faulty, and refused to detect the sound bar. LG were helpful, but recommending I connect using a UPS is not really acceptable, especially when all my electronics are connected using Belkin surge protector. Now waiting for TV to be changed. My last LG TV never faulted. Hopefully new set is better.

Widespread HDMI handshake issue

Blrhous February 12, 2025

All of these sets are affected by an HDMI handshake issue that causes audio and video drop outs. This is well documented on the forums: https://www.avforums.com/threads/intermittent-sound-dropouts-on-lg-g4-65-inch-tv-need-advice.2503066/ The TV is not fit for purpose. Repeated firmware updates have only made the problem worse. Users are reporting that even mainboard replacements do not fix the issue. Please look at long-term user reviews before purchasing a TV.
