LG AN-MR19BA - 2019 Magic Remote Control

The remote was shipped quickly and packaged well. I popped the batteries in and the TV found it and connected on its own. It's an exact replacement for the original one.

My younger son poured water on it and got damaged. Again we got a lovely original remote.

Couldnt get my TV to operate right until I bought this . It is magical to me!!

works similar to remote provided to tv. all the same functions and pairing was easy. only annoying thing is i have to shake remote for it to like wake up and interact with tv. made sure i had nee batteries and still had same issue. not a huge inconvenience but it can be annoying at times

Did not work as the original. Need to shake it everytime before using it for anything even volume up and down.

This remote came with my C9 OLED, which I absolutely love. The TV is wonderful, it's a shame that the remote is terrible to use. I'll be replacing it with a Harmony Companion. This one is "fine" and really excels in some interesting ways, but many key features are missing that make it very clunky to use. I see no reason why they could not be addressed in a software update, though, so hopefully they make some changes. The good: - Controls mostly everything and was easy to setup - The voice control is excellent, and helps overcome some of the limitations of the remote. - I really like the air mouse feature. It's clunky at times but really comes in handy for things that would be much more awkward using the arrow keys/scroll wheel button for. - There was thought put into the limitations, and most of my other remote's features can be access through multiple layers of submenus. Better than nothing. The dealbreakers: - No fastforward/rewind/skip buttons on the remote?? This causes so many issues it's unbelievable. Fast forwarding any video requires 3 awkward clicks through a clunky nav menu. Skipping tracks on Spotify requires waking up the screen, wiggling around and clicking on next to change tracks. Seriously, don't even need a new button for this; just make the left and right arrow keys do it! :) - No dedicated "screen off" button (though it's nice that I can do it via voice at least) - No ability to map custom functions to the color action keys - No ability to remap specific buttons (for example, to bring up DirecTV's guide menu instead of the LG one with the guide button

The magic remote cane with the tv, it sort of works ok. The on screen pointer is awful, and isn't adjustable. But, the buttons we use most are volume and channel and are black rubber on a black background and are impossible to find! Poor haptic and visual design. Also, the four colored buttons, which could be something like your four favorite chalked, cannot be programmed? It's also too hard to read in poor light and should all be backlit? No, it gets one star.

remote 'ok' button on scroll wheel stopped working after about a year - but you can't select what you want to watch without it! Brilliant idea to pair a good TV with a crap remote, LG. And worse not to do right by your customers: Sell a working remote in the first place, and replace the flawed ones that you already sold.
