the shipping container that this came in was excellent it was reinforced inside of a cardboard box with all the corners reinforced and also had styrofoam on the front side of the plate the Box itself was very sturdy the great was a good fix for my J box easy to install with the four self-tapping screws aluminum was a good gauge and plenty of airflow for the air conditioner to get rid of the Heat but small enough to keep out any type of birds for nesting

be careful of sharp edges
I honestly thought this item would be like the one removed from my old air conditioner. It was not....this item was a rather flimsy piece of aluminum. The thickness was that of an aluminum soda can. I could have crumpled it with one hand. The description concerning the installation was not clear (should have been mounted inside the wall sleeve PRIOR to installing the A/C unit). Because I had already installed the 200 lb. A/C unit 5ft up the wall, I had to mount the grill on the outside of the sleeve using self tapping screws (bought separately). All in all, it does protect the A/C unit but NOT BY MUCH.
