I had first bought the LG blueray from Walmart.com and realized after I got it I had bought the wrong one. This one was wired and I needed wireless. I should have paid better attention to the reviews because I recall someone saying you would need a Lan line to hook up to my modem. I didn't want a line running from my livingroom to my bedroom. So, I returned it to my local Walmart and got the wireless and now everything is great!! Lesson learned is that I will read the reviews a little better from now on.
the player is designed to be a streaming service, and I only bought it to play dvd's and blueray. The set-up can be a little confusing, or intimidating, for that reason. If you only want to play dvd's and blueray, then just pop the disc in the machine, and it acts like a dvd player again. Simple.
My LG Blu-ray disc player has performed very well in the short time I have had it. The disc playback is excellent and the picture outstanding. My personal experience with Blu-ray players has not been good. This is the fourth player I have had in the passed two years so my satisfaction with this unit is tempered by that fact. But so far, so good. The units features include an internet connection(which I have not used and probably won't as I use my TV as a computer monitor) However I do use the USB feature and it has performed excellently. The videos and photos are easy to find with great playback. Other brands I have had performed just ok in this mode. All and all my experience with this product has been great. Just hope it stays that way.
I tried a few other brands , this one did everything i wanted to do . Lg is a great company. They seem to put a lot of effort into giving people the best quality and functionality.
This DVD player is very nice for people who do not have a smart TV for streaming services. I would recommend this is a budget player is what you're looking for.
This product is not bad for the money but the remote is to small and doesn't clearly show what it does. The remote buttons are very tiny , to close together and very hard to use. We are trying this product but feel that there might be something better on the market. They also need better instructions for each function. I had to go online to print out the booklet and it is not really clear.
I purchased it to go with my LG Smart TV. The apps are almost useless. You get 11 apps. Even after updating the player, some of the apps are no longer supported. The apps that do work are not as smooth as the same apps on my television. The SIMPLINK feature is buggy. I disabled it. The player may be defective? I had to unplug the unit from the wall to get it to turn off. It was locked up and would not do anything. I have read other reviews stating the same thing. The remote is very cheaply made. This player only has an HDMI port. It does not have any other optical audio ports as stated on Walmart's website. The DVDs I have played have worked and looked good. The front USB port has worked okay. Some files would not play. I do not have any Bluray disks to try, but I might buy one just to see if it will play them. Overall I am not impressed with this item and am disappointed with LG. I see on LG's website this item is now discontinued. I am thinking about returning it.
Probably one of the first LG products I have ever owned to where it needed to be returned for just utter failure. This machine from the get go would freeze while attempting to play netflix. We were patient with it and tried to give it a few more chances, then all of a sudden today, it decided not to push sound out...... Returned.
The player was advertised as "new", but when I received delivery I noticed that the box had been opened and re-taped. When I buy a new item, I expect it to be factory sealed. I had to return it unused and unopened.
Misleading ad, streaming only if you spend big money for a loooooong ethernet cable. More importantly, the USB port was defective and wouldn't read thumb drives. I took it back and spent another $20 and got the model with Wi-Fi. It works perfectly.
