[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LG's latest and greatest Ultra Short Throw Projector (model HU915QE) is no joke. This projector has been a joy to use and I believe is the best of the best in the projector world at this time time of writing my review (4Q 2022). I usually do not give high marks to a product as there is no perfect TV or projector out there, however this one is very close to perfection in my opinion. First of all, it is a pricey projector however the price is justified by premium features and outstanding image reproduction. A number of years ago this projector would cost three times as much it currently costs. The design of this looker is very modernistic and will fit well in every home theater room or your living/TV room without "offending" any décor. You won't need to figure out how to mount it on your ceiling, this projector simply sits next to your wall or a projector screen and performs flawlessly. I am telling you, the future buyer, the experience will take your breath away. Having a 4K Ultra High Definition displayed on a 120" screen does not compare to anything on the market. Watching a movie is a totally new experience and it is all done at a convenience of your home environment. This is a 2nd Generation 3-Channel Laser incorporated in this projector, it offers offers a separate light source for red, green, and blue, producing a vivid picture with 30% brighter color expression than the predecessor. With its 3700 ANSI Lumens Brightness power, this LG simply shines. I really like its luminous bright colors and deep blacks and its Adaptive Contrast ensures all scenes are crisp and vivid. This LG has WebOS 6.0 that runs all of its settings and a plethora of Apps seamlessly. If you ever owned an LG TV, you will be pleasantly surprised by the familiar interface. Choosing the right setting or switching from App to App is smooth and flawless. Let's talk about its Audio capabilities, this projector is outfitted with a true theater 2.2 Ch 40W Sound, with four 10W speakers creating a surround-sound experience for total immersion. I have paired it with the high end speakers and my Dolby Atmos sound is truly an amazing addition to my setup. I am truly convinced that if more people experienced this projector, they would reconsider buying TVs as this beast replaces the biggest and "baddest" screen size and picture quality is by far one of the best. I cannot say it enough, but try this projector for yourself and prepare to be amazed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing! We've had it for about two weeks now, and I'd never buy another TV. I'm giving it a bit to make a decision on what UST screen to buy, as 120inch is such a big jump to get used to. However, it looks brilliant on the large wall in our kitchen, which is very much in need of paint, so I imagine that it will look even more stunning on a proper screen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, the 20,000 hour lifespan of the lasers was a big selling point for me having had to deal with expensive bulb replacements and shattered glass in the past, this was a welcome change. The fans that cool the projector's internal components are quiet (26db), and the heat is a tiny fraction of what I've experienced with traditional bulb projectors. There is something so magical about being able to instantly summon a 120" display with sound, mere inches from a wall, it is an experience in and of itself. The main feature of this UST is the 3-channel laser tech that allows each primary (RGB) color to have its own light source, this gives a more visually striking image than a device with a single light source (RGB color wheels), even with sunlight. That technology helps to produce a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and 3,700 ANSI lumens, a picture that packs a punch. webOS is fast and feature packed! Screen mirroring features are also included and work like a dream, connecting with your compatible smartphone is super easy, there are also options to mirror your pc or mac. HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping alters the brightness in each frame, and Brightness Optimizer II adjusts the projector's settings based on the environment, it takes the guesswork out of calibrating the optimal image for any given environment. The sound is really good for being on-board, I was actually impressed. Better than any TV I've heard, there is adequate bass and clear sound. A lot of thoughtful design went into this unit and you can tell, all of these features make this projector worth it, it's an all-rounder with the power to be a daily driver in a living room or a dedicated home theater setup.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I were really excited to have the opportunity to try this projector out. Once we received it, set was easy. It does take a moment to figure out the settings. I love how the remote lights up when using it which makes it easier to use in a dark room. The picture is clear and the room does not have to be pitch black to see the picture. The projector works best with a projector screen specific for ultra short throw projectors. Overall, very happy!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an previous LG PF50KA. Lets me start with I loved the product. Its picture was great and it had portability. With that being said the HU915QE is a major upgrade for me. The short throw ability to be able to project a 100+ image with just inches of space is amazing. The picture quality is great and currently I'm only projecting to my white wall as my screen has not come in yet. The brightness, contract and color quality is superior. The auto brightness adjust is great as I've tested in both lighted, dark, and window open environments and for most part it adjust properly. The projector is bigger and bulkier then I expected, but with the front speaker grill, it is able to blend into the room. Also for its size, it is pretty quiet when it is running. Its cooling seems to work great as I have not noticed any excessive heat from the device. The sound is a major difference between my 2 LG projectors. The sound quality of the device negates the need for an additional sound bar and is on par with above average TVs. 2.2 Ch 40W Sound with four 10W speakers give an acceptable surround-sound experience. 3 HDMI's, 2 USBs, optical and Lan ports give you the ability to merge with your other products easily. I have not currently put the Lan port to use and have had no problem with the WIFI even with the projector being on the opposite side of the home from my router. The web OS 6.0 is still very user friendly and appears to have all the regular needed apps available. There are many more features I have not got to utilize like connection to apple products. I would recommend this to my family and friends. LG continues to impress with their products.
