LG CX 48 inch Class 4K Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® (48.2'' Diag) - OLED48CXPUB

Did a ton of research before buying. I knew the LG OLED was one of the best if not the best TV on the market but still had my doubts if it could live up to the hype and price. It did and then some. TV size is huge but you can get that anywhere what stands out is the picture. Contrast is amazing and the picture is amazingly clear. Even when watching just 1080 cable tv and not 4k content it shines. It upscales the image and makes it look amazing. I was having trouble on my old 55" sony bravia tv of being able to read menus and such but now with increase size and clarity can read the smallest print at the bottom of screen from advertisers "small print" disclaimers no problem. If you want the best and not worried about the price this TV is for you.

I have had the CX48 for over a week now, and here are my general impressions. The last OLED I extensively used was the LG C6, and this TV is a step up in every way aside from the loss of 3D. As always, you get the perfect contrast of OLEDs with inky blacks, without any blooming or greys normally encountered on a standard LCD. This TV shines compared to past OLEDs however, due to the little details. The input lag for games is lower than ever, and GSYNC is the cherry on top for PC players with an NVidia card. The new size of 48 is great for smaller spaces and even as a gaming monitor, surpassing the visual performance of practically any standard monitor on the market. For the non-gamer, everything you could want is here. Brightness is greatly improved from the C6, and has a bigger impact than LCD even if a bit dimmer, due to the blacks not having to compensate. Color volume and saturation is fantastic, and pops on the glass display combined with the contrast. Any 4K HDR video looks incredibly good on this TV, with no dirty screen effect of LCDs and minimal banding on dark grey screens. The processing is also leaps above OLEDs of a few years ago, with 720 and 1080 content, especially cable, looking much cleaner and refined compared to older sets. Lastly, the OS is very quick and has plenty of apps such as YouTube, Netflix, Prime video, and much more. The magic remote is very easy to use and enjoyable with the motion pointer. LGs OLEDs are one of the best TVs you can buy at the moment, and the new 48 inch size just made it a choice for an even larger audience. Its simple to speak volumes on this TV, but trial one in a store or bring one home and see for yourself. Once you go OLED, you will not want to go back to anything else. Wow, this makes the initial jump years ago from SD to HD pale in comparison. Sleek, modern design sets the stage for the best picture and audio I have seen and heard yet from a TV. Incorporating the latest developments in AI and internet streaming service, while also leading the way in the next generation of gaming and video, best all around picture I could ask for!

So I had the previous years model OLED65E9 model and thought decided to buy this years model for another room. The picture is actually better than before. The only problem I have is that I'm having problems getting the IP control from my Control4 system to work as well as last years model. There appear to be some differences that are causing some problems with turning the TV on... it will turn off and volume control but other little things aren't working with the same driver. I know it's minor to most people, but thought I would highlight it since it's the only thing I can find wrong with this TV. Amazing picture and audio.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LG has done really well with the OLED AI ThinQ! The details are exceptional and the picture is crystal clear. I am so excited to see all of the options and channels. It took two of us to carefully unbox this masterpiece of a TV. Then, we used a 75 pound rated mount to mount it to the wall, hang it and tighten the screws. The LG OLED48CXPUB is an excellent TV/Gaming Display. The picture is sharp; the detail is amazing. In a low light room, the picture quality is great with its ability to produce true blacks. Although the volume will not rock the walls, it is quite adequate for my Rock 'n Roll abused ears and the sound quality is truly amazing. After installation, I could not tear myself away and proceeded to have a weekend of binge watching. LG Channels offers additional streaming selections, a nice bonus. They even have cartoons for kiddos. Whether this LG is hooked up to my PS4 or my Asus ROG, the VRR and HDR contribute to an excellent gaming experience. I found the response time to be excellent. I definitely notice the response time on the tv. There isn't any lag, a big difference from my desktop screen. I am beyond pleased with this product!

It's also fully loaded as well with HomeKit, Google Assistant and Alexa support right out of the box. Setting up the TV was very straight-forward. The settings and menu are very intuitive and well organized. This TV is a pleasure to use it's fast and responsive, the remote is also a air-type remote that moves the cursor by moving the remote. There is also a feature called LG Channels that gives you a ton of good channels and content to watch which is FREE! Yes, FREE! I couldn't be happier or ask for anything more from a TV. There are zero complaints from me, and the rest of the household. We love it so much we are going to get another one of these for the bedroom to replace our just recently purchased non-OLED TV. The difference is just amazing - you have to see it to believe it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is without a doubt the best TV that I have ever owned! I was only replacing a LED tv that was a little over a year old with what I thought was all the bells and whistles, but it doesn't compare to the quality of an OLED TV. The problem I've had in the past is figuring out the perfect calibration for a new TV, but this LG TV came with a couple of perfect picture modes right out of the box depending on what type of content you are watching. Following the super easy setup and installation not having to mess around for hours on perfecting the picture was a blessing. The remote is easy to use and was able to connect to my existing sound system and control my Fire Stick. We are currently using the Fire Stick for most watching, but using the built in apps work just as easily. There's even a cool feature that allows you to pick your favorite sports teams and get score updates as you wish that pop up in the corner. Just one of many cool features and apps available. Another part of this TV that just can't go unmentioned is the overall style and look of the TV. It was super thin bezels and of course it's about as thin as you could imagine. Only thing I wish was different is where I have it set up so you can fully appreciate how thin it is. Back to the quality of the picture I have to mention how good it does in both dark and light scenes. I've had problems with blooming and banding on other TVs, but none of those problems exist on this set. The OLED pixels allow the picture to get pitch black in dark scenes while still keeping the contrast and see all the details in the scene. Nothing gets lost. In all, I would definitely recommend this TV to anyone who is looking for the perfect set for any type of viewing. Can't be beat.

There is also a feature called LG Channels that gives you a ton of good channels and content to watch which is FREE! Yes, FREE! The content is actually varied enough that it actually could easily replace our cable bill. One of the other features that I really like is the remote is universal and it paired instantly and I am able to control the TV and my Apple TV that I have connected with the LG Remote. I couldn't be happier or ask for anything more from a TV. There are zero complaints from me, and the rest of the household. The family feels like we are at the theatre when we have movie night - We watched the latest Terminator movie and the picture was so clear it was exhilarating. We now have a regular movie night at least once a week with some popcorn, margaritas, and we take turns picking the films. The last one we saw was "Blue Planet II that we purchased on HD Blu-ray and it was spectacular. We love it so much we got another one of these for the bedroom to replace our just recently purchased non-OLED TV. The difference is just amazing - you have to see it to believe it.

I start to say that I love this TV, I am the extremely happy owner of 2 CX TVs (OLED77CXPUA and OLED48CXPUA). While using the first as main TV, I decided to buy a second one as main monitor for my PC due to the amazing features this TV carries, high refresh rate, ALLM,VRR, G-SYNC support and so on. Again, nothing to complain about this amazing TV, but the missing of DTS support is something that bother me a bit. I have both TVs connected to AVRs that support all kind of lossless audio, but unfortunately don't suppor advanced features mentioned above, therefore I'm now in front the unpleasant decision to pick and choose between either DTS support or those features. I have one X-box one X and one PC per TV and I have plans to buy the PS5, if/when available, I don't have intentions to purchase a dedicated Blu-ray readers only for movies since I have that capability built in the XBOXs. What I'd like to ask LG is if any interest in add DTS support back on CX series and if not perhaps would be a good idea to give the option to buy the DTS encoding functionality through the app store, to be completely honest I would be open to purchase it instead of using other workaround which may easily ended up to be more expensive and less robust. Assuming that DTS decoding can be handled without the needs of additional hardware. Thanks and really really appreciated the effort from LG to add all the above valuable features to this already great TV.

Just got this and put it through the paces. And Im' seriously impressed! Games look amazing on this TV (playing Ghost of Tsushima in classic mode) blacks look spectacular! The reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because of the usb ports. It only recognizes FAT but not EXFAT, hope they change that in the next update. Other than that spectacular HDTV!
