Great OLED G1

Julio R September 27, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing gorgeous picture. LG hitted out the ballpark with this TV all the features from day one for gamers, great for movies and shows. Next year LG all you need is heat sink, but the Evo panel is brighter and noticeable.

Picture perfect!

PaulBe December 31, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great size for sports viewing with a 77" display. Vivid, bright quality picture that is the best I could find. LG Evo is the state of the art display that is unmatched by anyone.

Top Notch Display

DCNOVA September 28, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV is crystal clear. It is like I am watching movies for the first time. I recommend the LG if you want the best display possible for movies and sports. I do find some TV shows look better on our LED but for all other uses the OLED is clearly superior.

Beautiful picture with great colors

Bill 71 March 23, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this TV for almost 2 months and am very happy with the overall picture quality and brightness. I previous had the LG C7P and the picture quality of the G1 is better. I would recommend this TV

My first OLED

JDerv June 26, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went from a plasma to a 4K OLED. Quite the jump. Im impressed with LG, they upped my warranty from 3 to 5 years out of no where for free. They added Dolby Vision support before anyone else. I bought this TV instead of the C1 because of the EVO panel. I researched it for months. I game so the EVO panel was worth the extra money. The biggest feedback that I can offer to LG would be to incorporate ease of use picture quality. You can go through all the picture settings and adjust everything the way you like it but its not an easy thing to do. Id like a feature that automatically updates the picture settings to the best selections. The other thing is I watch a lot of sports, particularly football, both American and European. There is a blur around the players against the field of green. It doesnt jump out at you but you can notice it. The same thing happened with my old plasma and Ive seen it on ever other TV Ive ever seen. Im sure there is some setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted but I dont know what it is. The TV does not included a stand, even though this flagship model is meant to be wall mounted I would have liked it to include the G model triangle feet. The picture quality is awesome, I went back and watched Game Of Thrones and the infamous dark scenes were so much better on this TV. I also watched Marvel movies in 4k and they were so cool. I play FPS and this TV processes input lag so much faster than my plasma, it is noticeable to me and makes a big difference. Ghost of Tsuhima never looked better. COD with the HDR and texture packs is crisp and fast. Cant wait to trade in my ps4 pro for a ps5 and really take advantage of this TV.

Gallery TV

Joey MM March 20, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased our 65 inch gallery TV about a month ago. This is the best TV we have every owned. The picture quality is amazing. I installed the TV myself. LG supplies a template that makes hanging the TV a breeze. There are so many cool features I can't list them all. The one really cool feature is the smart remote. For the first time in years we have one remote that runs all the TV functions and all of our direct TV functions.

Excellent screen but with major flaws

NickC94022 July 11, 2021

I waited almost 6 months and finally got it delivered and installed. Foremost, the TV is very nice (a bit heavy) and the screen quality is amazing. Alright, I guess we all know this part already. Second -- here are some very major flaws: (a) I have a Sonos Beam soundbar connected (wired) to the eARC port which allows for control over Sonos. Now I also have paired Bluetooth headset that I like to use at night so it won't bother the family. But guess what - LG G1 automatically switches back to the wired audio connection and won't allow for the use BT headset. I submitted a report to their support/engineering and they still have not fixed this. They should never assume default as wired - let the user specify what to use and when. An iPhone allows you to select the wired headset or BT headset, speaker - it does not assume wired as default only. (b) No ESPN+ app -- is this a joke? How do I watch sports? I have to go to the browser and manually logon using the very slow browser window and good luck with all the typing. (c) Gallery of Pictures -- it won't allow me to upload my pictures to run as screen saver ? Even Amazon Echo tiny boxes allow it. While I enjoy those Picasso pictures, why can't I use my own - it's in my house and I am not at a LG museum. Who cares if my pictures don't like a Monet. (d) Magic Control - not all app can use it - Xfinity Stream does not ( there were others) . Shouldn't they make it mandatory that the app has to allow for Magic control - otherwise it's an inconsistent user experience. (e) The magic remote control - come on have it backlit, it's really hard to see the buttons in a dark theatre room. (f) Search is confusing - it constantly finds things on youtube that are dated. If I am searching for Conor Mcgregor, I am looking for his fight tonight - list that first, not everything on youtube. Be a smarter search ! Overall - for the amount of money I spent, it is underwhelming. Ok, the screen is great but so what, it's not functional. Good news is these are all software fixes -- if they can get their engineering act to fix these (and btw - shouldn't their QA find these issues - they are not like corner cases, they are very basic use cases). Last but not least- I bought this TV after reading all the great reviews from The Verge, Tom's Guide, Gadget 360 etc. and plenty on Youtube. It just tells me that those reviewers are clueless and have not actually used any product in real world details.

Great… when it works.

Hossafy March 28, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The tv is gorgeous and looks incredible on the wall. Unfortunately it randomly changes to HDMI 1 while watching other things, making it a frustrating experience to watch anything.

Awesome clarity

Smdenson1 July 21, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main reason we purchased this “Gallery” TV was for it to look like a framed picture when we have guest. To our disappointment it can't frame one picture and leave it without rotating images. So, it is an expensive screen saver or a slide show with a frame. The clarity is very good but if you want it to look like a framed picture this does not accomplish that.

Jury is out

SadDean March 17, 2022

I LOVE the picture and web OS. I'm not so happy that it had a major failure on day 102. It won't power on and needs a new screen and basically all the internal hardware with it. The first free replacement came defective and in bad shape. I've been told the replacements are refurbished defective units. Not only did it not work it also had scratches on the screen and came without protective covering. Should have been replaced with a new TV as I requested.
