[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The design of this washer was week thought out. Your buttons are not easily accessible to the toddlers, the light turns on when you open the dishwasher, and the 3rd rack is a very smart touch. All my utensils come out CLEAN.
Bought this dishwasher three months ago and have had repair man here three times. We owned it 2 weeks and latch to close machine wouldn't work. Repairman came out and removed existing latch which was completely corroded. Replaced at no charge. Two days later still would not close. Second rack not in proper placement. Third time latch not closing and he was able to fix. Usually takes me 3-5 attempts before it will turn on. Then sometimes it will stop mid-cycle! Very temperamental. Cleans well but not with the effort
Within 6 months of purchase the dishwasher failed. Back to hand washing. Several hours of repair gt it partially fixed. I give up. I will changing dishwashers as soon as I can afford it. All of this suprised me, because I have had an LG refrigerator that I loved.
This product failed catastrophically and destroyed the floors in my home. Poor wash and dry performance. LG is a shadow of what it used to be. Lazy engineering. Pass on this brand until they get their act together. I filed a claim with LG about the damaged floors and -- you guessed it -- haven't heard a single word back. I read that as a company that takes no accountability for their terrible products.
My dishwasher, purchased in February 2022, first required service on April 23. Since then, there have been multiple service visits and two control board replacements, yet the unit remains inoperable. In addition, new issues appeared during the repair process that were not part of the original complaint. After weeks without a functioning dishwasher and several unsuccessful repair attempts, I no longer have confidence that another repair will provide a reliable, long-term solution.
LDT7808BD - Had the product 3 years, and in those 3 years, I have replaced the sump motor (bad bearings), the Spray Arm, Lower (the orange nozzle broke off), one lower rack assembly (rusted out), the door seal (factory split), and the door seal (again, this time ANOTHER factory split). One of the lower rack assembly wheels is broken, but not worth fixing. My wife loves the features, but the durability is severely lacking. The mean time between failure on this machine (after 3 years) is 6 months. If you like going without a dishwasher ever 6 months, then this product is for you!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher because I expected a premium appliance that would last for many years. Given the price, I assumed LG would use durable, high-quality materials throughout the product. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience. Even though I only run the dishwasher a few times a week, the rails on the upper rack have to disintegrated because they're made of plastic. It appears the repeated exposure to the heat generated during normal dishwasher cycles has caused the plastic to deteriorate. This isn't damage from misuse or heavy wear—it's simply the result of regular household use. For such an expensive dishwasher, I find this extremely disappointing. A component that's exposed to hot water and high temperatures on every cycle should be made from a material that's designed to withstand those conditions for the life of the appliance. Instead, it feels like LG chose an inferior material for a critical part, resulting in a premature failure. I expected much better quality and durability from a premium brand. I hope LG stands behind its products and offers a solution, because this seems like a design or material issue rather than normal wear and tear
1 Star due to the quality of the Racks and Rusting. The cleaning is great and I enjoy the how quiet it is. However, what a great disappointment in the quality of the racks.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased in December of 2019. Had to replace a couple of the rack stands in the first year due to rusting. That was easy enough to repair. Unit was very quiet when new until about 14 months. It had then become very noisy. Guessing either the pump or motor. Now at 23 months the unit is is dead. It's tripping the GFI outlet just by plugging it in. I thought this was suppose to be a top of the line unit. should have more than a 12 month warranty.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In 3 years and 2 months, I have had the motor bearing go bad. A hole in a rubber grommet that wouldn't allow water to wash the top dishes. The Slide for the middle rack not working, and the middle rack rusting. This LG is a Lemon.
