The fridge is very roomy inside, so we do fewer shopping trips. Outside is stylish and adds a lovely decor to our kitchen.
Overall there's really not a lot about it to not like. It is very roomy, the black stainless does not show finger prints, and stays looking very good and clean with very little effort. It also looks good with our other regular (not black) stainless appliances. The ice and water in the door is designed well and allows you fill tall bottles easily. The buttons are easy to switch from ice to water to crushed ice. Having said that, there are almost always a few things that could be better on about any product. So for the benefit of LG I'll make some suggestions for improvements: The ice and ice maker makes the left door heavy. That causes it to slam shut too hard unless you think to catch it with your hand and lighten the blow. Perhaps there might be a way to remedy that problem; an air cushioned hinge, or something. The ice maker really does not produce and store enough ice for more than a family of 4. Since there are only two of us that is not a problem. But if you have guests over you are probably going to run out of ice. So you really need to keep some ice stored in the freezer all the time for that purpose; a little inconvenient. Just maybe a 25% increase in ice production and storage would help a lot. On the french door unit I replaced with this one, there was a small shelf attached to the inside of the freezer door at the top. It was only maybe 4.5 to 5 inches wide, but it was convenient. The design of this frig would easily allow for that shelf to be there, but it is not. It would nice to have. To me, the buttons that adjust the frig and freezer temps make it a little too easy to change the temp setting. I'm concerned that will happen inadvertently, especially if there are kids in the house. The ice/water/crushed ice display is not lighted. So in low light conditions it is hard to see which is which. That said, my brain adjusted to which is which in a few days, so it's not a big problem, but I think it would nice if they were lit. It would be much better for guests, if nothing else. On the ice and water in the door, I really liked the two separate buttons that LG had before they changed it on the newer models. It was nice to not have to switch from water to ice every time you needed both. I'm guessing that system probably caused a lot of people to spray themselves (or the floor) with water because it was unusual, and guests didn't understand it at first. Maybe that feature can be redesigned in such a way that would avoid that problem, while still having the two separate buttons? That would be nice. I'm sure that no matter which brand frig we bought, there would be little things like this to suggest. On the ice maker, something has to give; if it is larger, then you give up storage space for other things. So it's a trade-off, but I think it should be a little bigger, and the ice production a little faster. But overall we really like this unit a lot.
We are VERY pleased with this refrigerator. We purchased the black stainless steel and it's gorgeous!! We previously had a side by side and there never seemed to be enough room for ANYTHING! There was also never enough ice. Our new LG-LFXS28968D is VERY roomy and the refillable ice bin in the bottom freezer has help tremendously! We ALWAYS have ice now!
Love this fridge. I researched lots of fridges. this one is a fantastic option because of the ice in the door and the large amount of customizable shelf space in the refrigerator. Also the freezer door opens all the way. Sam's Club delivery service was fantastic!
Could not give “5” because is too new, but so far it's excellent. Very quiet and I love the “smudge proof” finish.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have owned this product for about 3 years now. Like the design, and layout of the product. When it is working, we are quite happy with it. We've already had to replace 3 parts, including the compressor as our Freezer was not staying frozen. Also as mentioned in many other reviews, the ice maker gets frozen and you have to manually break apart some of the ice for it to fill up the contained- it does not hold a lot of ice.
Air filter housing broke off after first attempt to remove filter. Ordered new. If you have allot of tall items you don't want this fridge. Wine, milk etc not much places to store inside fridge. One small shelf that's it. And only because you slide back upper shelf. Both sides don't do this so limited. Cheap plastics abound in this unit. Ice freezes into hard rock balls in freezer door so weekly you must remove unit and shake it hard to break up ice or nothing will come out of door dispenser. It's beautiful to look at. The door in door add on is nice feature
It's working fine but ice freezes up into hard chunks in door. Have to break them up bi weekly. The filter housing when removing filter a piece of plastic broke off and now has to be replaced. Cheap plastic everywhere. Very poor quality plastic wise and it's all over. And it makes allot of different sounds. Not much tall items can go in and that's a big problem. Overall we would not buy again. It's not designed very functionally.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator had to be repaired after almost 4 years. The compressor was replaced. A year later it stopped working again and had other parts replaced but it is unrepairable. It is dead! Would not buy LG refrigerator again.
This frig is roughly 5 years old and it's completely dead….i would never recommend purchasing anything LG…..products do NOT last beyond 5 years without needing repair or replacement! If you have unlimited resources to replace your appliances every 5 years….then go for it but I'll NEVER buy LG EVER again!
