This range exceeds my expectations!

CKrogs December 13, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this range to replace a gas range which did not provide consistent baking in the gas oven in June 2021. Our daughter-in-law introduced the idea for an induction stove top to us (we were thinking to buy a dual fuel range) and we have been very pleased with our decision! The glass stove top is SO EASY to maintain and it's beautiful in my newly renovated kitchen! The speed of heating anything is amazing and only takes a little practice to adjust your habits. (A full teapot only takes 3 minutes!) We made the decision to replace our old cookware with a better quality steel product to enhance our cooking on this induction stove. The oven is wonderful and with the full convection option, baking anything is a joy! Three casseroles or baking sheets of cookies bake evenly and completely in the time suggested in most recipes! (Which never happened in the old gas oven.). And it's so pretty! My guests always are surprised to see the pretty blue interior. Three racks (the middle sliding rack is awesome!) make cooking a multi-dish meal a breeze, and the warming oven more than met my hopes for maintaining heat in a baked dish while baking others at a different temperature. It really does take the place of a second oven (I had wanted a double oven, I thought!). I haven't tried proofing bread, yet, but the other options work great. The broiler is super hot and I've learned to reduce temperature to low to thoroughly cook certain meats. Finally, the ease of cleaning the stovetop really enhances my joy of having this range! It usually cleans up with water and a microfiber cloth, but I do use the included Glass cleaner to really polish it up or to get oil off after frying. I haven't cleaned the oven, yet, but I'm sure the easy clean option will work great. Thank you, LG, FOR AN AWESOME RANGE!

Great Range w/ good safety features

2dogs1rugrat January 11, 2018

This range hit all the marks for us - we've been using it for a month now and are satisfied with our purchase. Pros: 1) Large oven capacity - oven door stays cool during baking, even while broiling. Oven heats up quickly despite it's large capacity. Love the sliding oven rack - we are considering buying 2 additional to replace the static racks. 2) Great Safety Features - We have 2 dogs and a child under 1yr. We've been scouring the available products on the market for good, reliable, comprehensive safety features - to be honest, we were set on buying gas but couldn't find what we wanted for safety. The heat from the cooktop cools nearly instantly from cooking - of course your pot stays hot, but the surface cools as soon as you take the pot off the 'burner'. LOVE this. There is also a safety lock-out which locks down the door (cannot open) and cannot turn on any burners. The burners also do not stay 'on' if the unit does not sense any compatible pot on the burner after ~10s. Love this! 3) Great cooking heat on the range - even the smaller 'burners' yield high heat capacity and quick/consistent cooking results. 4) Love the overall look of the range and the blue oven - attractive and so easy to clean! Cons: 1) (Personal Preference): When using the 'Lock out feature', the display shows "Lock" in bright red letters - which is great for us adults to know that it's locked out, but it makes it the most interesting thing in the room for my 9month old. Luckily he can't walk/run yet, so it's a short lived infatuation while we're walking by the display. We'll be managing this as he gets more independent. 2) Intermittent buzzing noise when using certain pots/pans - When researching induction, we knew that we would observe a buzz with the unit due to the technology, but when we use some pans, we hear a much louder buzz. The only issue is that it is inconsistent - I would be concerned and replace the pans if the noise was made all the time when using these pots, but this issue happens at random (doesn't matter what heat setting we use - does get louder with the higher heat). The cooking performance is the same with or without the noise, so it's mostly a nuisance when the pan does make a noise. (It's loud enough that our dogs usually ask to go outside to get away from it). 3) Discrete heat settings on the range burners - Being used to the continuous heat available from previously used products, it is taking some time to get used to the discrete heat settings. All in all, the range covers the heat increments we need, we are just getting familiar with what is required for the different type of cooking. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

What a stunner!

Gwen1949 July 10, 2017

I waited for this beauty and It was worth the wait. This slide in instantly brought our remodeled kitchen over The Top! It has everything you could possibly want including good size warming drawer, probe, four multisize burners and a warming spot. The 6.3 oven is spacious and beautiful with a wonderful rich blue interior that will be a wiz to steam clean. Can't wait for our first big holiday meal with the pull out extended rack basting will be a breeze and size won't matter! Beautiful, functional and efficient! Love convection, induction living! So far, so good!

MeerKat February 11, 2018

I've been using my new range for about a month now, and overall I am quite happy with it. This is my first induction range, and so there has been a bit of an adjustment there. The main source of dissatisfaction, for me, is having to match the size of the pan to the size of the element -- this has required a certain amount of juggling, since sometimes you want to use two medium-sized or two very large pans at the same time, or you don't want to have to use the back burners just because you're using a small pot. I also haven't found the warming element to be especially useful, or the best use of space, but part of that may just be that the directions aren't all that clear about how/why to use it. I have also been frustrated by the temperature control a few times, finding that the lower setting was too cool, but the next setting up is too hot (for instance, when making crepes, they either take forever to cook, or turn brown within 30 seconds). I will say this, though: the stove cranks out some serious heat -- enough that it actually caused the oil in my wok to spontaneously ignite when I left it unattended for a few seconds! Definitely my fault, not the stove's, but useful information to have... As for the oven, it generally seems to work very well, although it does take a VERY long time to preheat to higher temperatures, especially if you make the mistake of opening the door midway through (you have to really give it some time to get up to 500). I haven't yet used any of the self-cleaning functions, so can't speak to those. I did use the programmable probe on a roast last week, and was pleased with how it worked (although you still have to double check with a thermometer, since different parts of the roast cook at different rates). A cool feature to have, though. As other people have mentioned, the timer is a pain in the neck to set -- it moves in 10 minute increments, and it's very hard to control the speed at which the numbers change. But with a light touch and a lot of repetitive touches that one can be overcome. On the whole, the stove is attractive, fairly straightforward to use, the surface is easy to clean, and it does the job well. One other thing: I chose this model because it was one of only two that uses knobs to control the temperature instead of a touch panel (I had heard from people who found touch panels to be temperamental, especially when they got greasy). I have been very happy with this control system, and I appreciate the fact that there's a light-up indicator that tells you when the heating element is on, since I'm used to having a visible flame.

Excellent stove with some minor annoying issues

Zeffe August 5, 2018

The slide-in look give the whole kitchen a different vibe. Our kitchen is not that old, but this stove gives the whole kitchen a completely updated feel. Love the way this stove cooks. Very responsive when changing heat settings, even with thick bottomed pans. When you turn the heat down it responds instantly. So much better than my previous glass top electric range. Boils water insanely fast. Make sure the bottoms of your pans are perfectly flat or you will not get full benefit of the burner. Food does not burn on the burners because the burner does not get scorching hot. So easy to clean. Wipes completely clean with a damp cloth. No razor blade or scouring pad needed. The oven heats up very quickly, though we haven't yet determined how accurate the displayed temperature is. Seems to bake pies more quickly than our old one. I love the knobs. They are sturdy, very well made and clean very easily. The WiFi feature is pretty cool, but allows you to control the oven only. You can put your food in the oven and start it cooking with your phone no matter where you are. It also notifies your phone or tablet when the timer goes off. Cool feature if you're not in earshot of the kitchen. The annoying parts: The cooling fan that comes on as soon as a burner is turned on is louder than I would like. I do like the fact that the fan exhausts at the back of the range and not the front like some other ones do. The timer is frustrating to set. When the button to increase time is pushed and held, instead of advancing at a normal rate it races so fast that you cannot stop it at the time you want. So, you have to peck at it one minute at a time. Maybe I'll be able to harness it, but it's been a few weeks now and I'm no better at controlling it than I was on day one. Inexcusable for an appliance in this price range. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

NOISE NOISE NOISE

p586 January 27, 2018

Bought this at the end of 2017 and now I'm just using it since I've been away. Since you can't try this out at the stores I never knew how noisy the fan was and how long it stayed on afterwords. This is an open concept condo and I can't even think with this thing going nor can I have guests for dinner since it's so loud it disturbs us while trying to talk. I will replace with a different brand that I know has a better fan as soon as I can. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Design flaws keep this from being a good product.

Disappointed in Midwest August 31, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Design flaws keep this from being a good product. First the back of the range will not go flush against solid surface countertops like our quartz counter. This leaves a gap in the back where you can see the unfinished rear of the range, screws, unpolished back panels are exposed. Odd since most slide in ranges are on peninsulas and islands where you can see the backside of the range. Since LG does not make a range flange to cover the exposed unfinished back, you either live with it or purchase a custom made component to cover the ugly exposed back. Second, there is no over the counter rim. As such this slide in allows drips and crumbs between the stop and counter top. Previous slide in was easy to clean but, without a rim this is not.

Would give 0 stars if was an option!

Raymond22 September 17, 2019

We bought this stove in may of 2018 since then it has been nothing short of a nightmare. We have had to schedule two different repairs as the oven itself will not work. First repair was in April 2019 and still under manufacturers warranty, what a nightmare that was. We were without our oven for a full month. Second repair is scheduled for less then 5 months since that repair. If had the option of returning we would in a heartbeat.

Uggggg

Stacey C August 27, 2019

All was well .....until the range was just over a year old and of course out of warranty.i used the self clean option and now the oven door won't open. It's been 20 hours so it's not too hot to open. Now the oven controls won't work and the oven appears dead. I called for some technical support and the person who answered is apparently in India and was unable to understand English (no offense to India) I just in the last year I purchased two whole kitchens and two sets of washers and dryers All LG. I never dreamed that they would offer no support except to say speak 1 word at a time-Ummm I am speaking 1 word at a time. All they would say is unplug it! Really disappointed in there lack of concern. You lost a loyal customer!!!!
