LG OLED77C9PUB 77-inch 4K UHD Smart OLED TV

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my 55 inch OLED LG TV the weekend after Thanksgiving I'm very excited with the picture quality and the overall experience of owning an LG TV. When watching a sporting event you actually feel as if you are there and part of the crowd. This has been one of the best manufacturing/ owner experience that I have ever had. I would recommend the OLED TV line and LG TVs to anyone looking to buy a new TV.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was honestly mildly skeptical about such a hefty price tag for a 65” tv especially since stores use juiced up display modes built into units, but the picture and sound from this unit are great directly out of the box. With a few minor adjustments to picture settings (CNET has some great tips) this unit verges on flawless and is definitely leaps and bounds better than any QLED for color accuracy. The internal speakers on the TV, again with a few minor adjustments, are much better than a lot of sound bars available out there. In my personal opinion the very best thing about the C9 is the automatic detection of latency sensitive devices like an Xbox. I have never seen better HDR picture in my games. The only “negative” thing I have to say after a month with this tv is that sometimes the magic remote is a mild hinderance that feels somewhat gimmicky. I would give the remote by itself a 5/10. I am no longer skeptical about the price tag for this television and I am beyond satisfied with the investment. I would highly recommend this TV over ANY QLED if you're interested in the best video and gaming experience out there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am not a super techy guy. My spouse is the one who does all the research on the best tech. I just get to enjoy the benefits of that. Two years ago when we moved into our new house he wanted to upgrade from our previously awesome HD Plasma TV to the current best TV and get a new custom installed Dolby Atmos Sound system. So he got us an LG OLED 4K HDR TV and I was completely blown away by the picture quality. This year we upgraded to the new 2019 C9 Model of the LG OLED TV and WOW!!!! Our old TV was already amazing, but this new one is just unbelievable. The picture quality is better than anything else out there - OLED's just can't be beat. The blacks are better than what I see in a movie theater. The colors are bright. The HDR and Dolby Vision when watching Netflix or Amazon Prime is incredible. I love that there is no visible speaker on the TV (although it does have speakers built in) - there's a just a thin bezel around it. This TV is packed with features, but mostly I just use the Netflix/Hulu/Prime Video/YouTube apps to watch content. What I really love about this TV and the reason I'd definitely recommend it to people is the picture quality - that's what makes it stand out from the rest. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest opinion.

The picture is gorgeous and I was surprised by how good the sound was on the set. The tweaks LG did for the cable routing on the stand were also welcome. One thing I didn't appreciate is the fact that you cannot get any variation of HBO in the LG app store. This is a major drawback. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Bought a 65” C9 almost 2 months ago. While thinner than an iPhone, it is heavy. You will need 2 strong people to get the stand on and lift into place. My old TV was a Kuro plasma, so I'm addicted to blacks and the OLED provides them. The picture is bright and gorgeous if you feed it a decent source. The remote is fine – it's nice to just point at what you want and go right to it. My advice: set the HDMI and Netflix Picture Mode to isf Expert (Bright Room). Keep most of the defaults but set all the Expert Controls and Picture Controls to OFF. Set Color Gamut to Auto and Peak Brightness to High. (Try Real Cinema = ON, but that doesn't look good on 60Hz material from DirecTV.) My only complaint is the panel is not perfectly vertical. You can see the bend while viewing from the side. I don't know if this occurred during shipping or during my assembly. If I had it to do over I might have forked out more for the E9 that should not bend due to attachment to glass. You need to be extremely careful installing the C9. Watch some videos of assembly online. Now that I've done it, I think the video where the TV is not laid flat might be best. One person holds the TV vertical while the other assembles the stand. Then the TV is placed on the stand and screwed down.

Oh, on the contrary, LG WebOs sucks and LG has gone to great lengths to make sure you get what you pay for provided you pay for whatever third party services WebOs allows you to connect to. Best to look for a Smart Tv that begins with QLED and doesn't limit what apps you can load, what services you can get and where you get them from.

I have had my TV about a month and the picture quality is well 4k however the shadows detail and true blacks are a game changer. My one and only issue is that twice now a single pixel has gotten stuck on a color and would shine through the other pixels distracting my viewing experience. They both eventually reset and went back to normal but you talk about a very uncomfortable feeling after dropping $2500. I still feel very uneasy about it because this is new technology and who knows what if in the long haul it gets worse or more frequent. 3 stars until I can determine the volatility of Oled ownership.

Plugged this in after 3 years, it updated the gui. Now I can't select any of the apps. They are either low off the screen, or at the top of the screen and when you hit the up arrow on the remote to select an app, they scroll off the bottom again. Does LG actually test this stuff? I now have a dumb-smart TV that I can't use any of the apps on. Save your money, there is no support.
