Sleek option for monitor consolidation

38WR85QCW April 17, 2024

Started a new position where I needed about 6 windows/ documents open at the same time. I'd been sent two little monitors and a laptop and was really struggling. This monitor changed everything! Perfect size for what I need to do. Also a very nice, contemporary, sleek look in my white/ grey office. Came well packed, and in record time! It's really changed my work experience, and even reduced my migraine frequency. Win win!

Beautiful monitor!

yrwstd January 31, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a beautiful monitor with a great resolution / pixels per inch and a nice refresh rate (144hz at 3840x1600) given how many pixels it's pushing. The matte finish is nice, and there's no noticable delay or tearing. Love this monitor for general productivity and gaming!

LG 38” WQHD Curved Ultrawide Monitor Review

dalpal20 January 31, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my honest testimonial on the LG 38” WQHD Curved Ultrawide Monitor 38WR85QC-W. I am an avid video-gamer, and this monitor is a high-end product! The refresh rate of 144Hz is extremely fast where I can play with no lag time and interruption. I love how this monitor has an Ethernet port, 4 USB ports for my multiple devices, an integrated kvm switch, and two type C ports that can charge laptops. It's a monitor bundled with a complete docking station, so you have only one cable to unplug when you are on the go. The design is sleek and easily adjusts to my eye level. I can also multi-task easier because I can change the screen to a two-screen mode. It also has a mode to prevent blue light strain on your eyes. Overall, I recommend this monitor at the highest level. A great, top-quality product! My wife and I love it!

Amazing quality Ultra-Wide

ppaulick January 18, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow. Having long looked at ultra-wides trying to find the right fit for me, I was excited to get my hands on LG's latest 38" offering. Initially I was concerned that a 60" x 30" desk might not be enough to use it comfortably, but so far I haven't noticed any serious issues due to the massive size (having upgraded from a 27" QHD.) The built-in color profiles are really great - and holy cow does the contrast and brightness really stand out for some of them. They can be quite eye-searing, in a good way! The LG Calibration Studio is available as well, but requires an external sensor (Like a Spyder, etc.) I was hopeful that some of the settings could simple be changed in the software vs being forced to use the OSD. I'm primarily using the monitor for gaming, and 144Hz is a great fit for a monitor this size. I use a 6900xt which drives this resolution/refresh rate just fine. The 1ms response time is great, and there's settings in the monitor to adjust through some refresh presets. My only gripe is the back of the monitor - If you are up against a wall like my desk is, you lose a good 5-6" due to the positioning of the stand and the cables. If the cables came out of the bottom instead of 90 degrees out the back, you could flush-mount the monitor on the wall and gain a good amount of space. Instead, to do so, you'd have to invest in some after-market 90 degree cables to make it happen. Honestly, though, small quibbles for such a great monitor. I'm really happy with it!

Productivity Beast

Niegel1 January 31, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bigger is indeed better! This is what I can say about LG Ultrawide 38WR85QC-W Coming from a 34 inch ultrawide, I thought it's not gonna make a difference as it's only a difference of 4 inches, but I was wrong. This one is a real productivity beast for me. This monitor does not come with a super smart system/ OS -- which I honestly prefer to an extent. Those monitor OS is quite limited with the functionality it brings anyway. This one has almost everything you need to still be productive and can even make it a smart one if you want to. Let me explain -- This is base on my use case. I don't primarily game and I'm planning to use this more for work and entertainment. - Immersive - Ultrawide Screen (3840 x 1600) Curved Display This works well for multitasking and splitting your display into 2-3 sections. No need for additional monitors. I was able to split my screen into 4 section and the size was big enough to use the sections as a "normal" screen for watching video, browsing, collaborating or charting. - One Screen Multi-View Function (PiP or PbP) This extends the above functionality even further. With the massive screen, I can use Picture in Picture functionality not just for watching YouTube videos which I did in the past with my other monitor, but I actually was able to use a another laptop for personal browsing and work. This gave me a new way to work with 2 laptops and still having a normal screen resolution as compared to Picture by Picture (or split screen). Unfortunately, the input is limited to a combination of USB-C and HDMI. I'd love to have it both USB-C to eliminate more cables from my setup. This features KVM that allows you to use one mouse and keyboard to control 2 devices but since my current device works similar, I am not using it -- but it's a great feature to have! - Ports Galore This one offer variety of ports for you to use, you've got the backports which has USB-C, Displayports, Regular USB, HDMI Ports and Audio port but it also had more ports at the bottom of the screen for additional USB-C and USB-A ports. This also comes with LAN port but I use WIFI so this is something I was not able to test/ use. - Integrated Speakers One more cable and space saver for me as this includes a built in 2x 7W speakers! It's loud enough for attending work meetings (I work from home), watching trainings or video. - White and beautiful I have a white minimal desk setup so having this in white is a big plus! Overall, this monitor is AWESOME!

LG 38" WQHD Curved UltraWide Monitor Review

Lishyann17 January 18, 2024

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work from home, and I am a computer gamer. I absolutely love everything about this monitor! The high-definition picture is fantastic for watching shows/ movies and doing my work on spreadsheets at the same time. This monitor allows me to stream movies from my phone. wirelessly. The wide screen allows me to multi-task and view multiple documents simultaneously. It also has a blue light brightness adjustment feature, so I do not strain my eyes and prevents me from getting headaches. The 144hz refresh rate is amazing if you are a gamer, the video is so much smoother, I can see a huge difference compared with my 60hz monitors. The 1ms response time is noticeable compared to my 4ms response time monitors, the picture is much higher quality when watching a show or playing a video game. I can easily drag documents over to my adjacent screens, and the base is adjustable to my height since I am 6 ft 3 inches. The width is just the perfect size to fit on top of my desk. The screen is super sleek, is light weight, and not bulky whatsoever. The base is white and has a modern look. If you are looking for a monitor for gaming and if your workspace is from home, this monitor is the perfect monitor for you! I highly recommend this LG product.

Perfect size ultra-wide, great ports

Rob86 September 4, 2025

Excellent monitor. I use this for work and 38inch is the perfect size ultrawide, I found the 45-49 inch monitors to be too large and the 27 inch to be too small. This monitor has the best set of port options I have seen and a very simple setup. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an in-home or in-office monitor setup, I like it much better than my previous dual screens, especially when paired with Micrsoft Powertoys Fancy zones to create as many custom multi-screen setups as I want.

Very good ultrawide monitor, with QC issues

miomir1981 September 18, 2021

Monitor is great. Since I'm a long LG monitor user, I expected a lot from this one. And, it delivers on almost all fronts. Curvature is just perfect for monitor of this size, resolution and frame rate are great. Monitor is great for work productivity because of its high resolution (coming from 1080p ultrawide monitor). There is practically no bad thing about the product design and functionality, but... Quality control is a big letdown for this product. On a new unit I have two green stuck pixels. I feel disappointment because product with this price-tag should have better quality control and should never arrive to customer with this kind of defect. After short inquiry, I found out that no return is possible for just two stuck pixels, so this is a big disappointment.
