I was concerned about the negative reviews, so I avoided this product at first, but a plumber for my building recommended it, so I took another look. He said he had already helped install three of them in my condo complex and had received positive feedback about them! I am very happy with the machine's "communication skills" - I don't really use the app at all, but I might someday if I need the laundry done ASAP. I use the wash and dry cycle for my towels and tough items, and usually use the bulky cycle for my more delicate ones. The machine alerts me when it is time to clean the tub, which I find very helpful. I have two drying racks I use to save energy and keep delicates safe. I live alone (with two cats, too!) so the capacity is sufficient for my needs. The noise is about as loud as my dishwasher. I might turn the signal alarm volume down or silence it, as I find the melody a little annoying, but otherwise, I am very happy with my purchase. I am very impressed that a machine can both wash and dry. I use compostible wipes to clean off the lint around the door when it gathers, and I have not had any trouble with clogs. I am happy to be using less gas every month! Thank you, LG!
I owned the 2006 version of this unit - lasted 18 year! At the time it came with a portability kit (4 casters and snap on kitchen faucet thing.) I need to replace it and this looks like it could be the one! I have an extra portability kit and wonder if there's any reason this unit would not work to replace my old LG WM3431HW?
It's the first time I've used an all in one and I love the convenience. I can wash and dry a smedium load in about 3 hours. It has wash and dry only cycles. It's fairly quiet and the loudest it gets is when it's on the extra high spin cycle. The high speed causes vibration and movement but that could be because it's sitting on a rolling slider and a pedestal. I'm a family of one and I've used it weekly for the past 2 months.
The unit does what it's supposed to do. Wash and dry cycles are quite a bit longer than standard washers and dryers but I expected that before purchasing it. What I find alarming is the high-pitched whining noise the unit makes during every dry cycle -- similar to an emergency broadcast signal. Apparently this is typical for these LG machines due to their utilization of a small high-pressure turbine fan. It's somewhat counter-intuitive for a machine touted for its quiet operation (Quiet Mark 2023 certification) to be compromised by a noisy drying fan. Nevertheless, this seems to be an inherent characteristic of the design. Not happy but suppose I must live with it.
I had already read some reviews that had the issue of the drying times. Some basically came down to load sizes and the expectations. My wife was interested in some of the other features such as sanitation feature and an array of other wash cycles. We were both interested in the Wi-fi feature. The unit arrived, delivery was where I needed it dropped and I then installed it into our laundry closet as shown in the attached photos. Read the manual, installed the app, attached it to our network. I was ready to take it for a spin. LOL. Anyways, with a minimal load of a pair of jeans, shirt and a towel. I selected the Wash and Dry feature and was given a 2-hour run time. Pressed play and it began. Two hours later, the app notified me the cycle was complete. The unit then went into a cool down mode that lasted another hour, notified me again when this complete, then it powered off. However, I was extremely disappointed when I reached into items that were still damp to the touch. Further reading reveled that this cycle used the most energy efficient mode possible, cold water, air-dry method, no heat etc. BTW, we also have the ability to track our energy usage and more on this later. For the second run, a normal load size of half the drum of various items and we used manual settings that we would normally use with our old unit. Warm water, Med. Spin, Heat dry @ 140. Run-time of 3-hours given. Pressed play. It would be 4.5 hours later after it finished the cool down period. BTW, one can interrupt this cool down by pressing stop to unlock the door. So, far it was two loads with still damp clothes. Additional drying was going to be required. We used various settings over the next few days, and this is when my wife noticed the jump in our electricity usage. If you use energy efficient modes it consumes on the higher end of the posted yellow sticker rating. If one uses any of the heated drying features, the cost is almost three times this due to the extended run times. During all of this, we found the app useless other than it is notifying us that it is finished and the powers off thus disconnecting from the wi-fi. None of the downloadable wash cycles are useful and there seems to no way to change them. With that said, with all of the other washing features and being a front loader, we decided to purchase an additional electric drum dryer to go on top of this unit that we decided to keep. Like I said, it does wash clothes. However, now we can use the new washer and all the new features with larger loads and then dry more efficiently with the additional dryer. The end result has been a return to our usual power consumption in laundry operations. The other thing was, happy wife, happy life made it worth it for me. Hope this helps.
I am giving this product 2 stars because it did do a decent job of washing and drying light clothes. DO NOT buy this if you want any towels or anything more than maybe 5 articles of clothing washed at a time. Also no bedding. I bought it in 1/24 and have had to repair it once in May 2025 and it broke again this weekend. It's expensive to repair and now my husband is waiting on LG to hear regarding another repair. If you have to buy it buy a very extended warranty.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thoroughly regret ever purchasing this product. It has been problematic since day one. I am now awaiting, almost 2 weeks, for a fan replacement for the dryer.
Unit didn't come with water hoses. Not able to hook up unit when it arrived. Very inconvenient having to buy extra water hoses that should have been included in the purchase. I tried to contact sender to make aware of issue. Sellers never contacted me.
very bad. noise.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sorrowful purchaser. There has been nothing but a problem since day one. I have been crying myself to sleep at night due to all of the problems.
