Great features that really work

JC84 February 23, 2024

It is so nice to have an appliance you never have to even think about. it just works and has flawlessly for over 6 years and I expect it to continue to do so. It looks great next to the matching dryer which has also been trouble free as well as my LG TV

Wow! This thing is huge and CA King comforter size

Bubba_J October 27, 2022

They had to take off the door to bring it inside our laundry room. It's that big so do your measurements before ordering but we can confirm a CA King comforter easily fit inside this washing machine and came out nice and clean :).

Love this washer. Well worth the money.

Girly63 March 27, 2017

I bought the 5.2cuft sized of this same washer in Sept of 2016 and I am enjoying every bit of it. It has a lot of options that suits my needs and it really washes the clothes very well. The nice thing is that you can load a lot more to wash cutting your wash time. Another good feature is that you can add to the wash once the cycle starts. This was one concern for me when considering between top loader vs front loader. I even love turning the light on in the washer and sit and watch the clothes wash. Such a pretty washer. My one wish though is that the manual was more discriptive as sometimes you would like know what is happening in the cycles. Also the front readout features would say for example second rinse because some cycles do have two rinse but since it does not carry a lot of water you will not see it when rinsing. This is also why I turn on the interior light. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Quiet, efficient, effective. Check door opening

mightymikeMG May 1, 2017

I purchased this unit and had it delivered. First things first. It's big. In and out, check your depths, widths. It is a serious machine that will process the laundry. Also it works. The clothes seem to get very clean, even with our hard Texas water. The spin cycle seems to get a couple extra drips of water out that most machines would not. I like not having to run the dryer anymore than I have to and it works great with athletic gear that is challenging to dry. Downsides--The door mounts one way. We put the washer to the right of the dryer and cannot change the door mount from the left (drier side) to the right to avoid having to swing wet laundry out and around. Also the cycles don't seem to be customizable. I want an efficient cycle for work out gear where i use cold temp wash, high speed spin. I use this several times a week, but I can't get it to be the default or a "special" programmed cycle. Maybe I am not looking hard enough. Anyway, good out weighs the small issues and I would buy another one, but I would plan the water/drain hookups so that I didn't have the door issue! Very Pleased so far!

CJnATL March 20, 2018

Only have had this for 1 week, and everything is good so far. Suggest that you are prepared for some help installing this big boy because it is HEAVY! I guess over 200 lbs. Beautiful finish, and eliminates the "dial" that is found on other LG washer models. Love the on-the-door controls. Suggest that you please READ INSTALLATION DIRECTIONS if you install it yourself. It has 4 bolts on the back used to stabilize the unit while in transit, that you MUST remove before you use it. Also suggest that you get some stabilization pads to place under all 4 legs to keep it perfectly level. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Love this machine

jimho January 12, 2019

This machine has just about every feature imaginable - and they all seem to work but you'll need to read the instructions to understand what they do. We've had it for 6 months and have played with about half of them. It's almost 2x the size of our old washer meaning when laundry has to be done, it's 1/2 the number of loads. We also have the drawer for smaller loads and often run them both at the same time. The integration with the SmartThinQ app is great too. Nice to get a text on your phone so you know when it's time to move the load or if something isn't right with the machine. We saw the negative reviews but have had no trouble with this machine and expect it to last a long time. Our only issue with the product and why it gets 4 stars instead of 5 -The top of the machine is not very sturdy and dents easily. You can not use it to store detergent or other items. Given that you will want/need to put a shelf over it- however LG buries the information you need to make sure you have proper clearance for the shelf. You will need to leave 6 or 7 inches gap in the back of the shelf to allow for ventilation and you will need to leave at least 1 inch clearance above the machine for ventilation . Also not a complaint, but a fact- this machine is massive- If you have the machine on a pedestal or pull out drawer washer, be aware that the machine is quite high and it's depth will make it difficult to access overhead cabinets. Water pump issues

Natt10 January 6, 2024

The water pump breaks easily. I would not recommend unless you continue to buy the warranty.

Disappointed!

ad456 March 19, 2026

I loved this washer but it stopped working and I've had an LG Repairman come out and apparently the board is bad and the part given to him didnt fit. The original part has been discontinued and we are trying to find a part that will work, but its been several weeks without a washing machine and I am not very happy! I paid top dollar for a top of the line washer and I certainly expected it to last longer or at least be able to be fixed!

Had this machine for 5 years. After numerous, numerous, problems for those 5 years, it finally is unfixable. While I need a big machine, I think I need to get the next size down and NOT USE LG! They make life not good!

LG now 2 for 2

BigTC February 7, 2018

What is up with the design team at LG. Now on my second LG inside of 3 years. My first a WM8000HVA front loader went bad in 2 years - bearings failed, under low usage. Had extended warrantee bought out machine, still cost me hundreds of dollars. I got this model supposedly with heavier bearings. Did a rinse cycle and on the spin grinding noise started coming from the rear, sounds like the bearings were not polished properly, or there is debris in them, the machine has a hard time balancing with a light load, medium load, or heavy load, often not spinning out the clothing. I took the time to make sure it is stable and level. It shakes like crazy when trying to spin, the door bangs against the front walls of the washer. The machine vibrates like crazy, the floor vibrates like mad, I am sure I am going to be popping sheet-rock screws on the ceiling and walls below it.
