LG WP50NB40 Slim Portable Blu-Ray/DVD Writer

Unit it light, but doesn't shake or move around on the table when in operation. I didn't try the included software, but it works with VLC for BR video playback. Pro tip: buy a micro-USB to USB-C cable. Since USB-C by default offers 3A over USB-2 0.5A, you can ditch the splitter cables and power it directly from a single USB-C cable, data included.

This item came well packaged and in perfect, new condition. This is a pretty solid portable Blu-Ray drive. It's fast, quiet, works well with BRD and DVD and the write quality is good and consistent . Also, for anyone wondering, you will have to install the included software before it will play BRD's. But, no worries, if you do not have a BR or DVD drive installed already, you can immediately use this drive once plugged in to install the software disc it is packaged with.

I use this drive to rip dvds and blu rays and it works perfectly. Slightly expensive but dependable and reliable brand. Havent found anything this cant rip/ play yet.

Optical drives are being phased out from PCs and other places, they're trying to push everyone into streaming. Don't be fooled! Get a Blu Ray player like THIS so you'll always have your own media without monthly fees!

Just updated my desktop to brand new HP running Windows 11 Home. Love the new HP but it came without an optical drive … and maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still want one to load software/drivers and play dvds and music. This LG drive installed and operates flawlessly .. and the bundled software is excellent. Don't hesitate with this one … easy buying decision … winner!

It is hard to find good DVD/Blu Ray players and that problem is only going to get worse. This is a great one.

I am not a person that knows much about or understands electronics. This was so easy to set up and use. It works flawlessly. Very highly recommend.

Easy to flash firmware for extra capability.

works as it should. a little bit noisy though

Optical drive is great, the included software is garbage. I bought a cheaper off brand Chinese blu ray burner prior to buying this LG drive that was a big waste of time and effort. It was set for region 2 instead of 1, but it still didn't work even after I was finally able to change the region code. I recommend spending a little more for this drive, then finding better burner SW to use with it (DVDFab, Handbrake, etc.).
