Been using this washer since December and it works great! Very quiet. I like the Turbo wash feature for a shorter time, and the option to add extra water if you want. Since I am short in height, I need to use a step stool to reach the bottom when taking out the clothes, but no big deal. Would definitely recommend this washer.
It has only been a few weeks since we purchased our LG washer and dryer. I love the fact that it has a large tub with no center agitator. This will help washing large items, (bedding, etc.)
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer is magnificent! Very quiet wash cycle, everything is electronic even the timer. My clothes were extremely clean after washing even in the delicate cycle. Very good roomy compacity, fits most large comforters.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This top loading washing machine has all of the basics plus a little more. It is a top loader with a see through lid. The machine is very easy to use. You can really figure out how to use it without even reading the instructions! My husband is very happy with the unit because it is very user friendly. There is an extra function that if there is an issue with the machine you can download the LG issues using your smartphone. This is a very nice idea! The machine also has an auto balancing feature that buffers out and minimizes noise when the machine is working. This machine covers all of the basics and then some. I really like this machine and I am happy to recommend it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all this machine is so sleek and modern looking. When you up open the top lid straight up it reveals the biggest drum I've ever seen! I feel like I have my own personal laundromat at home now. First thing I washed was a king size comforter. Plenty of room for it to more around. I used to have to cram it in my old machine and it probably didn't even really wash a lot of it. I thought I had wanted a front loader but this LG changed my mind.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This washer is very quiet and has a very large capacity which is very usuful for a family of 4. It is high efficiency so we don't have to use so much water which is great for my water bill. Most importantly I no longer have to bend down to load the washer since I have a bad back. Very easy to use and high tech (WiFi). I like all of the special functions that comes with the washer.
I own this washer for a month and overall I am pleased with the quality and performance. It is huge, quiet, it offers many cycles including the soaking, it allows customization of the cycle by features like Water Plus (add more water for better performance) and Extra Rinse (to remove any detergent residue from the clothes). I also like that it tells exactly how long the cycle will take. The only washing issue I had was with dawn pillows, apparently they become so heavy that the washed struggles with the spin speed and stops, but still this is towards the end of the rinse phase, it washed them well. My issues with the washer are as follows: 1). The washer's outside water drain hose is VERY short. It created a problem with installation as the Home Depot phone team could not recommend the correct extension and the washer's drain hose was too short to make the washer operational. Phone reps had no clue, LG phone reps the same. I had already signed the paper that I accepted the washer and I was left completely on my own. The service on both Home Depot and LG was awful as they did not know how to solve the short drain hose issue. My husband went to home depot and bought 8 ft EVERBILT Corrugated Washing Machine Discharge Hose. Then he fixed the issue. Why neither Home Depot nor LG could recommend that is beyond me. They should encounter this issue often. Needless to say a professional plumber will charge heftily for solving this problem. 2). The manual on arrival is too short. You have to go online and download a complete one with valuable advice. 3). WiFi function was very difficult to set up. The signal in the basement was not strong enough, so we got a booster. Only after configuring it it turned out that the washed WiFi only accepts 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band but not the modern 5 GHz. We had to reconfigure the booster. Then the setup is still very convoluted with having to enter a meaningless password, etc. We had to do the Google search and find a YouTube customer film on how to do it. LG manual does not give all these details. After all was set and the WiFi connection between the washer and the app was established, it was still not clear how to start the WiFi, you have to press and hold the Remote Start button for some time after starting the washer and choosing the cycle. It took a housewife and two men in the house to make it all work. I don't know how a regular housewife can surmount these issues and complications. Overall this WiFi function is good but very difficult to set up. When the WiFi feature is set up, it gives updates on your phone regarding the cycle, via the installed ThinQ app. 4). The stainless steel tub is nice but the plastic trays for the detergent and softener and their holder look cheap and it's hard to remove/insert them back without fear of breaking them. They do not impress as durable. However you have to take them out so that the washer can dry before the next use, per instructions. Given these pros and cons, I highly recommend to research the product suitability, especially the drain hose length issue. If it's insufficient for your home, a plumber services could be an additional expense. And if you plan to rely on using the WiFi function, be prepared for considerable difficulty in setting it up.
It's certainly an uograde from what we had, which was an old Whirlpool top load washer. But it's not exactly what we were expecting inso far as such superior performance as was touted. We had a problem the second day washing two, thin, full size quilts on the bedding cycle. The machine kept running for over FOUR HOURS before we finally had to manually stop the machine, pull the plug, force it to reset and then manually WRING OUT both quilts over the sink to be able to get them into the dryer. This was really disappointing and annoying. The 'Spin' cycle also continued to just add water to the quilts and then spinning and managed to start another non-ending loop of which also had to be manually stopped. Most all of the other loads progressed thru their stages normally, though occasionally it does seem to have balance issues where it knocks.
This was a great washing machine for the first almost 3 years and then it started staining our clothes with a charcoal colored stain on multiple items in each load, no matter what cycle it was on. We cleaned the machine monthly like you're supposed to so it was not from lack of upkeep. When first investigating what was causing the stains, we found the metal spoke wheel under the wash plate was the culprit. We cleaned it and we didn't have stains for a month or two and now they're back. And of course, this issue is not covered by the 5 year extended warranty we purchased so now after only 3 years, we have to buy a new machine. Highly disappointed. A machine that costs this much should last longer than 3 years. Will never buy LG washing machines again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the washer and dryer alittle over a month ago. The pump on the washer already had to be replaced.
