Makes for a great corn chowder, 2 cans libbys cream style corn, 1 can evapored milk, 1 onion chopped to size you like and 6 medium potatoes peeled and sliced. put the onion and slice potatoes in pan. cover with warm water and little salt. cook on high for 20 mins. shake can of milk. open them up and have ready. drain potatoes then add corn and milk right away. salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy
I never could get enough cream style corn when I was a teenager. A can with rice and I'm not going to be hungry. Now that I'm an adult, every time I see a can of cream style corn in my pantry, it's a calm reminder that I am rich. I don't care how many cans of cream style corn I eat, so long as there's a can in the pantry, I've got good choices. I could have a sports car in the driveway, but that comes with a large cash payout that I notice. But I can buy as many cans of cream style corn as I can fit, and I won't notice it in my budget. Well, that and Heinz Ketchup. Not running out of Heinz Ketchup is also a red plasma proof that I'm doing ok. One little note, when I was younger, it seemed that there was a high incidence of gristle in the cream style corn cans. I normally attributed it to buying the cheaper labels, but writing this review, it dawns on me that it's been quite a while since I had to spit out the corn gristle that was common when I was a kid.
Okay, I do not eat corn that often because it is hard for us humans to digest. But sometimes I treat myself by adding this sweet cream corn to a frozen bag of Walmart kernel corn for a sweet and satisfying treat. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Excellent choice for when you're hungry or just want a protein packed snack. Not too sweet, not salty. A favorite in our house for generations.. peanuts are always crunchy, excellent size, individual individually wrapped snacks. Easy to carry in your purse, keep a few in the vehicle, at work, handy at home. Good pick me up before dinner, or a perfect snack after dinner.
Libby's puts the sweet in sweet corn. This creamed corn is so sweet it tastes like someone sprinkled it with a little sugar. This corn is good by itself or as a great variation on succotash, which is how I use it, and I almost always get compliments on the succotash when I make it with this corn. The creamy sauce is especially tasty. It has me scraping the inside of the can to get the last drop. If you like sweet corn, this is worth trying.
Fritters pancakes I like to mix the cream corn in with jiffy mix and make pancakes out of it or you can call them corn. Fritters I use a half a can of the corn to one box of jiffy mix and of course the egg if you feel that you need more flower fritters pancakes I like to mix the cream corn in with jiffy mix and make pancakes out of it or you can call them corn. Fritters I use a half a can of the corn to one box of jiffy mix and of course the egg if you feel that you need more flour or liquid like milk then you add it. or liquid like milk then you add it.
Libby's Cream Style Sweet Corn is low in sodium, which I love. Cream corn is creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. It is easy and quick to prepare. It costs less than the other name-brand cream-style corn products, and it tastes good, too. If you are on a budget, this corn is a great side dish that does not disappoint.
It's the only cream corn I use when I make corn chowder. There's definitely a difference between the other, perhaps a little cheaper, cream corn brands but it's worth the extra few cents. The flavor stands out and you don't feel as if you're eating mush.
Sometimes paying for name brand canned goods is best. Every holiday I make a cheesy corn casserole. Libbys creamed, and niblets canned corn make the casserole. The generic brands just dont have the flavor for my casserole. People let me know. i used to use 9×13 dish and everyone fought over the crispy corners. Now I use muffin tins abd everyone is happy.
We enjoy name brand cream corn with a sandwich for lunch. Very tasty. Can also use to make baked cream corn.
