Bought to use when doing yard work and getting dirt and debris off concrete walkways and patio. Brush works to push debris and glide smoothly without having to do too many passes to sweep whats left behind. Feels very sturdy and doesnt bend when pushing hard at an angle. I did need a wrench to remove the wing nut during assembly and it was too tight to unscrew by hand. Great tool for everyday casual yardwork.
Looking at heavy duty push brooms, this one retails at 75 percent less than most— so I had to try it. How “heavy duty” is it? Well, it's medium duty at best, and I had to add a couple screws to secure the handle… but it's still a great broom for the price.
This push broom isn't too heavy, so I don't tire as quickly as I did with the heavier one it replaced. I use it almost daily when the hickory nuts start falling in my driveway. Last year, I cleaned up over 99 gallons of them, counting those from the yard and the driveway. I really should have that shagbark hickory cut down, but can't bring myself to do it. It's over 60 years old. I have two more in the backyard. I've noticed a lot of friction when pushing the nuts, but angling the broom handle closer to the drive helps. So far, I'm happy with the Libman Multi-Surface Push Broom. However, the wing nut and lock washer were very difficult to remove from the packaging. I'm several decades old. After trying several methods to loosen the stubborn wing nut, this is what worked: I used a hammer! I have a multi-function tool with a hammer on one end. I tapped one "wing" until it started moving, then the other. Then I used the wrench to finally get the nut off. Not only was the wing nut hard to remove, the lock washer seemed stuck too. I had to pry it off with a small screwdriver. The broom gets 5 stars, but assembly should be easier, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars overall.
Overall it's very good but the firmer outer bristles interfere with the softer inner bristles in making a clean sweep. This then becomes a regular push broom that requires you to sweep and repeat spot areas that weren't cleared of dirt, dust or debris. The concept of the outer bristles picking up the larger debris while performing a general scrub followed by the inner softer bristles to “mop” the finer particles made sense regarding the design. But the overall purpose is ultimately fulfilled and it takes a little more effort to have a clean surface. The width of the head is a great advantage for broad open spaces over a shorter head for cleaning areas using a broom. If you don't mind repeatedly pushing the broom from an upright , full standup position to accomplish the task it is much better than sweeping in sideways motions with a semi-twisted back. It's also less strenuous on your posture. An unexpected and great advantage is I can use it throughout my entire home since the floors are all flat, smooth tile.
ok, great price, very good product , my only complaint is a white sticker that is very hard to remove on the handle, have no idea what purpose it was placed on there for since it has no writing or marking on it ... comes in a very large box ,easy to assemble will purchase again
This is a nice broom, and the handle bracket is a good feature. The nut to attach the bracket to the broom is a little short and a real pain to thread on. Once you've done it, it's fine, but it's not the kind of thing where you'll want to disassemble it for storage.
I had 2 delivered. One was missing the wingnut to attach so make sure to double check. Libman should hide this separatelyso noone can thieve it. Especially since it comes with a decent sized thin cardboard packaging wrap- around. Definitely worth the price.
Overall, it is a nice design but the attachment bolt should be 1/8" longer to use the lock washer. As such, connecting the handle is laborious and flimsy.
This broom sucks! I was shocked that Liberman would offer something this bad. It collects everything IN the bristles. When you pull back to push again, it deposits everything in the bristles on the floor you've already swept. You have to bang it on the floor multiple times to get all the clutter out, then sweep again ... and it starts the cycle all over. It's 10x the work to try to sweep %26 repeat w/ every stroke. TERRIBLE DESIGN! Hard to show in pictures. Video linked below, if it will work. Video https://photos.app.goo.gl/D6sJCPEb4QYdHBXVA
