Fish oil has a very short shelf life sometimes and getting the product to the customer without substantial oxidation is a challenge. When this bottle comes, the fish oil does not smell rancid, like so many other fish oil tablets. Unfortunately, with time, even in the refrigerator, it begins to smell "fishy," which is indicative of oxidation. Fish oil is a tough product to get right. These capsules are easy to take, but even tough I keep them in the refrigerator the second they come in, they smell and taste fishy. This is the reason I only buy one month's worth of capsules at a time, but even under refrigeration, they smell and taste fishy and after one month storage in the refrigerator, they simply become unusable.
