I am compound hetero for MTHFR. That results in high homocysteine, which can cause heart issues. I cannot tolerate methylfolate, so I take TMG from Life Extension. It has lowered my homocysteine from a high 13 to a better 9. I have had no side effects thus far.

My only concern is any possible affect on cholesterol profile. Nonetheless, this is a great alternative to SAMe which is far more expensive.
