Great hoop, built it myself with my toolbox and wrench sets, and adjustable wrench/pliers and usual stuff. I may be getting old, but can still put it together. Took 6 hours in the hot humid 90 degree Memphis sun, so likely 4 hours in good weather, 1 person. No need for handyman or paid assembly for this unit if you can put things together.
We've had it for almost a month with no problems. Very pleased with this product. It's summer and my children use it at all times of the day! They are always outside now! Perfect thing to have for those tween and teen years. My kids have friends over just to play Horse. It's easy to adjust, set up was fine, definitely get the 300 lbs of sand for stability! Just get the cheap play sand and a large filter. It's held up great in Oklahoma wind storms!!!! So pleased! It has great sturdiness.
We got this on sale and it took a few days to put this up as the box did not come with one piece that was needed to complete the BB hoop-the company was quick to send us that replacement part once we emailed and called them. The hoop is sturdy and I love how easy it is to adjust the height. Wished I bought this earlier!
Great value. This basketball goal is built from quality materials. A couple steps are a little tricky. So just make sure to pay close attention or you’ll wind up have to redo a couple steps. Plays great and is perfect size for our driveway.
Arrived quickly. Great quality and holding up well! Really like the handle component that makes changing the height very easy! Highly recommend if you are looking for a good basketball goal!
Surprisingly solid quality for the price. It's very easy to adjust the height. Took about 4-5 hours to assemble, not including the filling of the sand. My main gripe is the installation of the center frame pad and corner from pads. They give you self-tapping screws, but they wouldn't go into the metal frame. They really should have pre-drilled these holes. My other complaint is I don't understand why they make the holes to fill with sand so small. This makes filling much more time consuming. A few tips: 1. The handle is impossible to install dry. I used a bit of castile soapy water and it slid in like butter. 2. To fill with sand, you can use a makeshift funnel using a plastic gallon jug of milk with the bottom cut open. You can then use the opening of a small water bottle as an adapter so the opening fits in the hole of the base. Overall, it's well worth the price.
Great product for the price. I bought it for a 10 year old just starting basketball and wanted the adjustable feature to move it to 9 ft. The adjustable feature is awesome. It shakes a little bit more than you might want when the ball hits the backboard. The only way to avoid that is to buy a much more expensive hoop or one cemented into the ground. The other comments about the difficult assembly are true. I put it together over two days, about an hour and a half each day. There are bolts that are extremely hard to tighten and likely you will end up loosening them again at future steps to fit pieces in place. The step where the backboard is attached to the pole requires balancing the hoop at a difficult angle to orient properly to the pole. That step should probably be done before building the entire pole and base. The coating they put on parts makes some of the holes slightly too small, so you have to grind them out to fit the bolts through. Drilling the metal backboard to attach plastic pieces is dangerous and can splinter a drill bit. It’s a bad assembly but the final product is a good beginner hoop and fun to play on.
Assembling was a nightmare. It took forever and didn't come with required tools. Seems like some of it could have come already assembled and would have made the process much easier. Doesn't even have pre drilled holes for the backboard padding. I do think most of the instructions were detailed and easy to follow. We discovered that moving it without water in the base is difficult but once we filled it with water, we had more control of it. Backboard seems flimsy.
I have to say the instructions are the worst I’ve ever seen and the video is helpful but moves along too quickly. I was annoyed that I had to open different plastic bags to retrieve hardware. The instructions are sorted by section and it would have been extremely helpful to have the hardware packed in plastic by section with the part numbers on each individual bag inside the section bag. The other anniying thing was figuring out the orientation of the poles. Nowhere in the instructions does is say lay this end up or hole at bottom, etc. I found myself constantly rewinding the video to observe the proper orientation. I’ve put together many pieces of furniture, toys, etc and this was much harder than it needed to be because of the items mentioned above. Will review the actual play with the goal next.
I ordered from the internet and the package was delivered to my door with a large hole in the box. The hardware bags were sealed but there was no instructions. I found the instructions online and noticed we were missing several parts. Specifically the support braces that connect the round post to the base. I'll return the product and go elsewhere
