Great price. I don't have the budget to buy a more expensive brand but was impressed that it was bear resistant. Took it camping. Loaded it in the freezer with ice and food on Saturday. Pulled it on Sunday morning before work camped for three days. Cleaned it out on Thursday morning, the ice had barely melted and food was all either still frozen (what was frozen when I put in the cooler) and everything else was still very cold. Can't wait to try it out as the weather gets warmer this summer. I was impressed.
To be honest I haven't used the cooler yet so this review may not help anyone. It will help if you are buying online and can't put your hands on it. The build quality is excellent and it feels very solid. I believe it was worth the money. Time will tell.
Wow, what a difference this cooler makes. First of all, it is heavier than our cheap coolers, but is not as heavy as some of the name brand expensive coolers. This cooler keeps ice and food cool at least 10 times longer than our other coolers. We like the rubber non-slip carrying handles with rope attachments. These are easy to grab and hold without hurting our hands. The cooler has many nice features (like a drain hole and rubber latch/locks) and can hold separation blocks or inside shelves. It also includes a bottle opener on the top corner. This thing kept our drinks %26 food cold and still had ice for 2-3 days. Much better than we hoped for and saved us money when camping. Highly recommend this cooler over some of the higher priced ones. Works great, has a tough exterior, and looks good too.
I was in the market for a decent cooler that had decent ice retention! I did some research and watched reviews on YouTube, and this cooler was it! I pre cooled it the night before I put 2 cases of beer in it along with a 12 pack of drinks for my wife with 5 quart size frozen ice jugs! They lasted 6 days at 80 degrees -. I also got this cooler on sale for 109 bucks! Latches are great, handles are great, the insulation is good best bang for your buck!
We went to Lake Powell this last week. The high was between 93-102 and the low was mid seventies. My parents bought a cooler almost twice the cost of this guy and theirs ran out of ice by the end of the first day. Ours still had ice in it on day 5 even with it being in the peak sun for about 4 hours a day. Honestly one of the best purchases we have ever made. Highly, highly recommend!
Bought it in gray color which reflects the sunlight. Has rubber feet, you can't slide it on the ground. I bought it on sale less than $100 - did the job, filled it with ice and drinks and went camping in Oct. You can add a lock to it. Does have a port on the side for drainage. The cooler kept things very cold for 3 days. Had to top off the ice on day 4 for it started to melt. For short trips I'd recommend it - sturdy enough you can sit on it, very industrial great for job site also, versatile. I'd recommend it, kept things cold.
Cooler is heavy without ice, YETI is heavier. recommend you get wheeled version, wish they had wheel kit for after purchase. Performance in sunlight is better then other coolers I've had. My motivating point was my cousin's recommendation to purchase this instead of YETI. C ost for this size cooler was the other consideration. The YETI is still better but at $400.00 LESS i can buy another bag of ice during my adventures. Works much better if kept covered, DUH, but needed to test in sun storage for comparison.
The storage area was cool on Day 5. Most of the ice had thawed. Next trip, I will put a thermometer in the box to monitor the temperatures. It is heavy even before filling with food and ice but that's true if all these newer coolers. We like the latches but the handles to carry the cooler are awkward and less than desirable.
Really nice cooler and the deal was almost too good to be true. I'm picky too. Latches are nice, I don't think they'll stretch or break like some of the rubber T clamps. Side handles are rope with a bicycle style hand grip. The rope is more forgiving than rigid handles, I like it. Haven't tested ice yet but based on thickness and other testing I'm confident I'll get at least 4 days out of it, and who really needs more than that. This competes with much more expensive models for half the price or less. Good brand with a long track record too. The delivery time was incredibly quick. Thanks!
unfortunately i ordered this cooler for my BF birthday. We got to Walmart to pick it up and this isn't the cool we received. I went to Walmart the next day and this cooler was on the shelf in stock. So the person that picked my order didn't won't to look for this cooler i wanted so they gave us a different one in place of it. I wasn't happy about the situation. So i can't give you much information on this cooler.
