Lifetime Double Bin Rotating Composter, 100 Gallon Capacity, (60072)

This compost bin is great. Very sturdy. Easy to turn. It has some nice features as well; one feature that I really like is the locking mechanism that can be used to keep the bin from turning, if necessary. Also, you can easily remove the entire top panel if you need to. When it comes time to remove the finished compost I think that it will be really handy. Overall, it seems like a quality product. My only complaint is that the assembly is a bit time consuming and cumbersome, and the instructions could be improved. The assembly was manageable but you for sure need two people and quite a few tools. Otherwise, everything is great. I have used it everyday with no issues.

The only thing wrong with this tumbler is that it takes two people over an hour to assemble it. This includes drilling holes that could have easily been predrilled at the factory. Also, you have to have several tools including a power drill. As far as the product goes, it is excellent. As always, I wish it was a little less expensive.

Assembling may be intimidating but worth the effort because after you're done, it's a very sturdy unit! I bought this compost tumbler based on extensive on-line research and reviews. I chose the 80 gallon size for the value and it's plenty big for 2 people. We have a medium size garden and composting is the way to go! My husband is very handy and was able to assemble the tumbler with little help from me. The extra set of hands were necessary only for holding the unit steady while the screws, nuts, bolts were put in. His one complaint was that (most) of the holes were not pre-drilled. So here are his recommendations: #1 Lay out all the parts and pieces, inventory to make sure you got everything. (There shouldn't be any extra parts when you're done!) #2 I saw this on YouTube and he also found this demo extremely helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pK2hM57B-0 Walmart had the best price, even with sales tax! We ordered it on-line and picked up at the store. The box was pretty beaten up and looked like a "reject" but to our surprise, contents were all good and intact!

Not hard to assemble but one leg of the unit was not manufactured properly, causing great difficulty and delay. I had to file down this defect in order to finish the assembly.

now that it's together I love it , well built solid great design easy to use . putting it together took me more then two hours ( I am a mechanic by trade) the directions were written without wasting any words , in fact not one word of instructions just images , yes I did figure it out but it would have gone much faster if it was spelled out with more clarity . this assembly process is a challenge but worth it . if one of my friend wants a hand putting one together I will be declining . some things you only have to experience just once .

Okay, now that Ive gotten it all together Im satisfied for the price. Its getting a little hard for my 89 year old mother to turn but Im fine with it. It took us FOREVER to put it together. You have to drill 36 little holes.(bit is included in package). Once we figured out how to get all the pieces to attach it was fine. I want to speak to the guy that said it took him 15 minutes. It took that long to find my drill and attachments.

As other reviews stated, this is a bear to assemble. If they just would have drilled the holes in the manufacturing process, it would have been much easier to figure out. I didn't drill them until I dry fitted it together which helped. Seriously, for $5 more, they could have drilled the holes before shipping and it would be a bargain! Also, the capacity is not enormous. It will be fine for day to day composting, but for fall clean-up, you'll need another barrel. I'm keeping it, but I don't know that I would buy this again.

This is my first time at composting and this products seems to be what I need. I've just begun to fill it, as per the instructions on the included DVD. So far, I'm impressed. It's easy to put together, operate and has a sturdy feel. I'm hopeful that this product will produce great compost,

We've just had this composter a little over a week. The only rating we can give at this time concerns assembly and shipping. First the shipping was great. It arrived in a timely manner and the packaging was superb. Secondly, assembling was confusing at times. The instructions are step by step PICTURES, no wording. And the lettering that labeled the parts is quite small and hidden by the parts themselves. It is a fairly easy piece to assemble but the instructions were difficult to follow. It will require 2 people and one had better have some muscle. Assembled it is very sturdy and I really like the fact that the top opening is very large which will be nice when removing the compost and cleaning in between composting. It is easy to turn for the tumbling and locks into place with ease.

The end product is a large composter that works well at a good price, but assembly is time consuming and poorly designed. There are over 30 holes that need to be drilled, and screws are held in place by plastic nuts that need to be fitted into recessed holes at awkward angles. I've used other products such as the Compost Tumbler that offer a similar product made in USA for only slightly more money, and the assembly is far simpler. There's no way this composter can be disassembled for moving.
