An excellent composter that should last. It's a well thought out design. However be prepared for the time it will take to put it together and pay close attention to the build instructions. For example I misread the manual and proper assembly of the first barrel took about 45 mins and because of that, the second one only took me 10mins! It took me about 3 hours in total to put it together. A metric socket set (11 %26 13mm) will make assembly easier.
I am pleased with the product. But I'm disappointed that I got two instead of just one that I ordered. So far no one has picked up the return for credit even though we have followed instructions to the letter for return. Please help me get this done.
is the best store in terms of service supply and cleanliness in my area. you can always count on nice service and help from the staff. The goods are always available on the shelves and if they are not, the staff will always help you order it on the spot in customer service. thank you for your presence in my town!
The hinges for the Composter had rusted through so I called the Customer Service. The wait on the Customer Service Line was a little long, but as soon as I was able to connect with Drocha everything worked out pleasantly. She asked me to provide her with pictures of the rusted out hinges and within 2 days they were in my mail box. She was a pleasant and thorough.
This was the product that I wanted.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi I'm living in the UK and when the straps on my Double Drum Rotating Composter broke with being several years old. I thought I would email the company to see if they could help me. They returned the email straight away and asked how they could help. With an exchange of a few emails the straps were on there way and a week later they arrived at my home. What a great company. Well done
This unit has performed beyond our expectations, beyond the warranty period A bear tried to beat this unit up, it made off with the part of the barrel by the door opening. I contacted Lifetime, and told them of my Dilemma.I was in contact with a service rep by the name of "Alejandro" he was extremely friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He located the part, and even though it was beyond warranty, sent it free of charge to me in Canada. Very impressed with him, and lifetime products. You don't see service and generosity like this very often, Thanks so much, will buy lifetime products again.
Item was missing screws and I had to pay someone to put it together. Tasker had to go to home depot for missing parts.
We bought it on October 2025. It takes a lot of patience and time to put it together. After using it for 4 months, it does not have enough aeration to create the environment for worms to thrive. No worms = no compost. We've been composting in our California backyard for 20 years. Our 2 plastic bins were finally past repair. The Lifetime being elevated is a great concept, but it desperately needs a lot more air. We put a good amount of plant matter, etc. in one of the bins - instead of going from slightly smelly to no odor (this is a sign the worms are doing their job), it just smelled, there no worms - I had put a lot of worms in to get it started. It just smelled like rotting material. Compost when it is finished, has no odor. The Lifetime also has several rust spots which given the weight of the barrel when full, is disconcerting. I now prop the doors open so it gets more air - that takes away the heat it needs to make compost. It is a great concept with a serious design flaw.
