[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Placed an order for the snow load kit and new truss braces and very pleased had how fast they all arrived. If in Canada, you should always have the snow kit installed.... my neighbour has the same shed and with the snow we had this winter his didn't damage, mine did. He has the snow load package installed.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought the 8 X 7.5 storage unit and additionally the snow supports. Followed shed instructions and installed snow supports at correct time. READ INSTRUCTIONS for both and you make good decisions. Took two easy days by myself and I am very satisfied with results. Expect good usage for many years.
easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit is a great addition to anyone that lives in a snow region. I live in the North East area, and I recently had 12 inches of wet heavy snow that melted for a few hours and re-froze for days. There was no sagging or distortion, and I didn't have to snow-rake the roof. So glad I decided to purchase and install the "Snow Load Kit". Installation was fairly easy, but I do recommend that you use a magnetic socket on your cordless drill, as this kit uses self tapping screws into two layers of steel.
I think it is worth buying in this part of the country as we get a lot of snow. easy to install glad I bought it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the 8'x15' shed and wanted to make sure, in the event of a heavy snow storm, the shed would be protected from any amount of heavy wet snow. This kit should do the job without question.
Great product. Will definitely strengthen the roof trusses. BUT... if you purchase this with the shed, be aware that you can't assemble this product until AFTER the roof is on. Otherwise the roof panels will not seat properly on the trusses. All the screws used during the assembly penetrate the roof panels. The instructions, either with this product or the shed, do not state this fact.
I bought this to replace an old, rusted shed for the new rotor-tiller that I bought. After building a wood foundation as the slabs weren't level a friend and I got it put together in a few hours. The directions were easy to read and understand. I bought a strengthening kit to give it more support for heavy winter snows. I also bought an extra shelf which adds for stability as it attaches to each side. It has a window and light can shine down from the pitch and the doors have windows. Plenty of light.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just finished installing the kit. Took me about 2 hours. I drilled holes instead of using the self-tapping feature of the screws -- went faster that way. Got a little confused by the gable installation instructions then figured out they were for a side not end door.
I like the shed and it has a lot of great features. I did not get to use it however for four months, which is why the review is here for both, (since the review for the shed timed out). It appears that since I have a back injury and needed a contractor to set pavers for the foundation and assemble the shed; it was extremely difficult to to find a contractor to complete the job. The third one finally did so, but not without complaining about the problems inherent to the huge instruction manual and the inability to properly identify hardware from the manual and pictures included. Also, I did not like the experience with the Snow Load Kit. If it is determined it is needed for the weight of the snow, then it should have been included especially in snowy upper states. The fact that it is an identified need, should also have required the mounting holes should have come pre-drilled for the mounting screws. The only other major concern is the doors seem to be hard to move already around the pivot points, and the floor and shed are completely level. Hope this does not become an issue soon.
