This was a replacement for an existing 888LM that had malfunctioned. The replacement was quick, easy and complete. The only issue I have is that I now have two garage door openers listed, the original and the replacement. I've not found a way to remove the old one, which is a minor inconvenience. Overall, great product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought two of these to replace and upgrade existing wall controls. Old controls worked fine but were not compatible with LiftMaster MyQ smart phone app and had fewer features than these controls. Simple two screws and two wires to swap out each control box. Five minute job. Hooked up the LiftMaster gateway to my router. Downloaded the app, created an account, added the two door opens... done. Total time 20 minutes. Everything worked flawlessly the first time and have been using the app daily since. So far I have been pleased with performance, ease of install and zero configuration problems.
This was a replacement for one that had gone bad — Yielding spurious operation, and inability to open or close door with button. Fixed everything. Also linked it to the door monitoring device. Now when my garage or shed door is open I'm alerted to it.
We had the second 888LM control go out and when I went to purchase it, I found out about their warranty extension until 2023. They said they had redesigned the unit to eliminate the frequent failure issue and shipped us replacements promptly at no charge and free shipping promptly. You don't find many companies that stand behind their quality reputation like this without being regulated by the government to do so. Thank you Liftmaster
It is a great product when working but it failed after 4 years. Things like this should last for 20. Liftmaster offered no hassle free replacement shipping took a while to get it here.
WiFi App is good idea, except something is causing the 888LM door to cycle open and close on its own. So replaced with free revised and extended warranty version of 888LM and re-initialized. Door is still intermittently cycles up and down (3 times) on its own, never know when, even with new unit. I fastened a remote opener to the wall and used it while waiting for the new 888LM, just no auto-light. until door moves but no mysterious cycling of the door. I am over the WiFi linked opener and just want a mechanical wall unit with light sensor.
There was a recall on this device. I received a replacement and still having the same issue. The device only works sometimes. I have a Netgear Nighthawk AX8 router. The router is only 20 ft. away from the device and the MyQ. For those that have older garage openers and looking to being able to open and close your door with your phone, I'd say buy the opener with wi-fi capabilities. I thought that this device would work and so far highly disappointed.
It didn't work with my iPhone XS and so I was sent a new control panel that didn't have the screen with the time. So either no screen on panel or no iPhone
Had to return the remote opener, after many calls and lots of time on the phone with lift master they could not keep it working. But they had a different excuse every time I called in. Not going to buy a product from them for a long while
Liftmaster promptly sent me a replacement for my defective 888LM. Turns out the replacement was defective too. Had to purchase one locally and so far so good, but be wary, these units have known issues and, though their intentions may be good, even the factory can't seem to tell the good units from the bad.
