This RDS aluminum transfer tank is well built and works flawlessly, it also looks great installed just behind the cab of my 2500 work truck. The time and convenience of having this to fuel up my equipment is money well spent.
Fits perfectly in bed of my truck. Works very well ...love it
The tank fits perfectly in my F250 quad can and was easy to install. The additional flow kit seems to supply fuel slowly; I'm not sure it will keep up with the 9-10mpg consumption when towing 15klbs. Called the manufacturer, they recommended a pump fees it it doesn't keep up.
Installed about 3 weeks ago. Fairly easy to install. Took about 2 hours but could have taken 1 hour if we werent taking our time abd making it look professional. Took a trip to Indiana from NC. 650 mile trip and I still had a full tank once I arrived. Tank was worth buying and I feel it already paid for itself. I get about 988 miles roughly (75 miles left before empty)
Great Product for transferring Gasoline into mowers. Love not picking up 5 Gallon Jugs that do not have breather valves in them. Easy Installation and works great.
Really happy with this tank on my 3/4 ton diesel.
I wanted more range between fuel stops when towing my fifth wheel travel trailer so I purchased this tank with the diesel install kit #011025. Everything went very smoothly with the installation. Only issue is about an inch of fuel that remains in the bottom of the tank that does not appear to be draining, perhaps this is normal and it will just drain out very slowly due to the tank being near empty. Overall good product.
I received the tank in good condition strapped to a pallet. One of the side mounting tabs was not bent but had been welded on and left straight. A couple of seconds with a pair of vice-grips remedied that with ease. Mounting in the back of my 2003 Dodge Cummins Ram 3500 was a snap with three #14 self threading screws. The on/off valve at the bottom of the tank is very close to the side of my heavy plastic bed liner. The rubber hose supplied in the separate installation kit had to bend sharply to pass through the 3/4" hole I drilled in the truck bed. There is a slight kink in the hose which slows the fuel transfer a little but I can live with it. The fun part on my truck was cutting into the rubber filler neck and removing a 2.5 inch piece to accommodate the tee for the filler tube from the new tank. A sharp box cutter did the job with a few skinned knuckles. This is not a product defect just a characteristic of the Dodge. Before ordering, I had checked the Q&A section on other tanks as I was concerned that the filler cap was higher than my tonneau (Le Bra) cover. The answer given to one query about the dimensions was that the height of the tank given in the dimensions was the overall height and I assumed that to mean including the filler cap and tube. I ordered the unit based on that assurance only to find that the filler cap was about 1.25 inches taller than my tonneau cover. I could stretch the vinyl of the cover over the cap but it was obvious that the material would quickly wear through with the constant rubbing against the filler cap. After considerable research I fashioned a penthouse bump in the tonneau cover by taking a plastic 8 ounce sour cream container, drilling holes in it's rim every 3/16 of an inch, painting it black with plastic spray paint, cutting a round hole in the tonneau cover, stitching the plastic container into the tonneau cover with heavy duty upholstery thread and then putting a bead of Shoe Goo around the outside of the joint. I then placed a small felt furniture pad inside the plastic container to prevent the filler cap from wearing a hole in the plastic. The check valve system on the tee adapter seems to be working well. After putting several gallons of diesel in the tank, I opened the valve and let it flow slowly into my main tank. I could hear the trickling of the fuel and left it to fill for over an hour. The trickling stopped and the fuel gauge read full. There was still fuel in the new auxilliary tank so the check valve must be working. I would recommend this unit strongly.
Seems like it would be a good fuel tank, the only problem is how it's packaged for shipping a single wall light weight cardboard box. So all attachment mounting tabs are bent and the drain which you connect a gravity feed to is also bent. They really need to do something about the packaging don't let the delivery driver leave before you inspect it.
