One of the first things I noticed about this product is that it has a very small footprint, which makes it perfect for small spaces. It is a very light product, making it easy to pick up and relocate if needed. Everything you need is included in the box, a scoop, the scoop holder, and up to 8 weeks of bag refills. I'd heard a lot about the different Litter Genie products available out there, but I'd never tried any before. This Litter Genie XL Cat Litter Disposal Odor Free Pail System is a truly excellent product. It was a little complicated (at first) to put together, but when it's set up and working, it works very well. Normally, when scooping cat litter, I just dispose in a recycled grocery bag, however, sometimes the bag has holes, and often times the bag has to sit for a week out in my garage before dump day! With the Litter Genie pail system, I can dump litter waste into the bag, seal it, and then not have to dispose the bag until up to 30 days later! Pretty awesome! Now, I can scoop as often as I want, and not worry about disposing the bags until the end of the month, rather than every single week. Absolutely NO ODOR! It's a sleek design too, and I don't mind keeping it out in my living room next to one of my tables. I'm overall very impressed with the system. I've heard that the replacement bags can be expensive, but with them lasting up to a month, I think they're very much worth the cost. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who has cats, and especially those with multiple cats!

I had a pretty good system to clean litter (see photo). I used meat and veggie bags, and twist them tightly and place the bag into a plastic container. I kept the scoopers in a little plastic trash can next to it. No odor and I can use one bag for about a week. I wasn't sure whether this item would simplify things, but after using it for about a week, I like it. It is even easier and there is no odor. Having it all in one is convenient. And it doesn't take up much room which is important to me. I'm not sure if I'll be buying the bags for it once the plastic that came with it runs out. But I don't see any reason why I couldn't still use the bags I get with meat. I would recommend it as an easy solution to cleaning up the litter. And it's neat looking too. I haven't changed the bag yet, but don't foresee any problems with it. Very easy to get it out and tie it and tie the bottom of the plastic for another round. And I've not noticed any mess around the opening to put the used litter.

I have 2 cats so I am constantly cleaning the litter box. Having this little trash can sitting next to the litter box makes it so convenient to be able to clean the box several times a day. Before I would grab a shopping bag and clean the box, then have to walk to the bag out to the dumpster. Now with the litter genie I can clean the box and not have to worry about smell or running outside every time. It's very easy to assemble!

The Litter Genie XL Cat Litter Disposal Odor Free Pail System is great! I have 3 litter boxes on my house. So needless to say i have a ton of stinky litter to dispose of. I usually throw it away in the bathroom garbage and after a few days the whole house stinks. The litter genie is great at eliminating the stinky odor until i can take the trash out. It has a easy to replace system in place for the bag. It also has a really convenient holder for a scoop on the side; that way you don't have a yucky scoop just laying around. It is really easy to open and dispose of the bag after it is full. It has a great little cutter inside of it so you dont have to hunt down a pair of scissors or a knife to cut it. This is a great product for anyone with stinky kitty boxes.

I have one cat, he's 17 pounds, not overweight, just big. With that being said, when it comes to the litter box it sometimes seems as if I have two or more cats! My first thought at seeing the Litter Genie XL was, “Gross, why would you keep cat poop sitting around for three weeks!” However, after using the Litter Genie I totally understand the concept and convenience! My litter box is large and has a cover and odor control has never really been an issue. I would clean the litter box every day, using one trash bag each time and carry to the outside garbage can and hope no animal got into it. With the Litter Genie XL, I can now scoop the litter box every day with no trip to my outside garbage. I simply scoop the clumps from the litter box into the Litter Genie XL, close the lid, pull out the handle and the clumps drop to the bottom of the Genie in the 7 layer liner bag. Depending on your cat's size, or how many cats you have, you can wait up to 21 days before you need to empty the liner and take the walk to the outside garbage. I have received the Litter Genie XL Cat Litter Disposal Odor Free Pail System. I have never had a litter pail before and was not sure that it would work as well as it has! It was simple to assemble and even easier to use. Up until now I have used old grocery bags every day simply adding more garbage. This pail has been able to hold an entire week of used litter for 2 cats! Being tall and thin, the pail stays out of the way by taking up as much space as a small trash can. The pail works quite similar to a diaper genie except it does not seal off each entry. You need to tie a simple knot on to the end of the bag each time you use the imbedded cutter. The cutter has a guard ensuring that only the bag gets cut and not your precious fingers. The bag refills are simple to install even though I have not had to change it as of yet even though it has been in use for over 2 weeks. I did not expect it to be able to be able to seal in the orders as well as it has. We literally can not smell a thing! I love that this litter pail comes with the attachment for the litter scoop, keeping it close and easy to find every time you need to clean out the cat box. Overall this litter disposal system has exceeded my expectations and has done the job it promised. My only complaint is that it is a bit too heavy while empty so I placed a small paver brick in the bottom in order to prevent it from being knocked over easily. I do highly recommend this litter pail to anyone with roommates of the feline species. I have also used it to dispose of puppy droppings left around the house leaving no smells to escape.

I received my Litter Genie XL Cat Litter Disposal Odor Free Pail System and after looking at it decided that it may work better for my daughter. They live in a third floor apartment and and was hoping it would provide an easier solution than making a trip down to the curb daily. Setting up the canister was a bit challenging because the directions were hidden inside which were helpful once we figure out how to open one of the three openings. The premise of the design is a good idea but the execution is a questionable. You have to install a square of prepackaged bags at the top and pull it out until it reaches the bottom then tie off the bad, which is a bit tricky since the bag is double walled and quite thick. This seems sturdy for odor control but questionable if bag is heavy when you remove it. The canister includes a childproof cutting tool for cutting the bag off when it's full,, at which time you tie the bag off with a knot and then tie a new knot to begin a new bag. We believe the bag would be full before 21 days which is what the product advises but we haven't had it long enough to verify it. Overall I'm interested in trying it out but am worried it's more complicated than it's worth

With having 2 cats in my house I was very interested in trying the Litter Genie. I ma trying the XL version of the Litter Genie because of having multilabel cats and currently using 2 small trash bags a day when cleaning my litter box. I have mixed emotions regarding this product, I like the fact that I can clean my litter box multiple times a day and dispose of the waste in container. The container looks nice and I like the scoop holder on the side of the container and it can go on either side. The idea of not having to run to the trash each time you clean it is great however I find prepping the bag a little cumbersome. Because it has multiple layers it is not that easy to tie the knot and feel confident it is going to be secure. I was imaging pulling out the bag and having the bottom open and creating a mess so I put a zip tie around my knot. It is suggested that the bag will hold up to 21 days of waste for 1 cat so having 2 I actually change it out every 4-5 days. It does cover up most of the smell but not all, I can smell the waste when I open the lid. I have found that the refill bags will run you close to $5.00 each so that can become costly. It does suggest that this product works best with a light-weight litter which is what I use. Having said all that I do think this is a great product if you live in an apartment or condo where you need to dispose of the waste in a garbage dumpster or if you just want the convenience of not having to take a bag or two out to the trash daily.
