LIVE CATCH MOUSE TRAP

As described, nothing fancy. Caught my office mouse the first night I left it out with peanut butter in it.

I was alerted to the fact that we had a mouse in the unfinished part of our basement when our two cats kept scratching at the door. When I checked that area, I found a bag of birdseed with a hole chewed in the side. Time for the cats to earn their keep! I let them both into the area (usually off limits to them) and left them there for awhile, but they were not successful at finding the mouse. I went to the store to purchase a humane trap since I hate killing anything and also felt like I really didn't want to watch the cats kill the mouse either. While I was gone, my husband set a traditional snap trap. When I returned with the Tomcat live catch trap, I found the bait (peanut butter) on the trap my husband had set was gone, but the trap wasn't triggered. I put peanut butter in the Tomcat trap and put it on the floor where the birdseed was. When I checked 30 minutes later, the trap was closed. The mouse was caught! Since it was nighttime, I didn't dispose of the mouse then, but waited until the next day, which was fine. I took the trap to a field away from my neighborhood and released the mouse and it ran away. Maybe it will end up as owl food, but that's part of nature. This trap is a good choice for anyone who doesn't want to have to kill a mouse themselves.
