I have been baking with this starter for almost a month. I expected to need to feed it several times to wake it up, but from day 1 it has been very active. The flavor is wonderfully tangy, and the bread made has been perfectly chewy with a crisp crust. I have also made sourdough cinnamon buns and sourdough sweet orange rolls that have received rave reviews at work.

Although expensive at $15 shipped, it has helped me have a successful first try at sourdough. And the starter is healthy as heck and has grown and gone crazy! The bread I've made has been very good with repeatable results. I recommend this starter for first time sourdough bakers!

I very rarely write reviews but I felt like I needed to write one for this! I have never made any bread in my life let alone sourdough. I was completely inexperienced with what to do with starter and so intimidated. I took a chance on buying this and let me tell you it’s amazing! It came with clear instructions and by the fourth day my starter was so strong and bubbly. I’ve already made 3 loves of sourdough and other things with the discard. And the bread was AMAZING!

Extremely happy with this purchase! The package arrived in the evening and I fed the starter then. 13 hours later, it had doubled in size. At the 13th hr I decided to feed it again (1:2:2). 5 hours later the starter has more than doubled in size. Highly recommend this product.

I have been baking sourdough bread for decades. most of those years was a culture started from scratch in my kitchen and an open window. During the last 10 years, a Yukon and two San Francisco cultures were added. The claim this UK/Dutch culture was a 900 year old culture, a true "Ship of Theseus" paradox, intrigued me. Between purchase and receipt, I contacted the seller for the story, which he promptly provided. After receiving it, I immediately began to feed it, and it more than doubled in the first 5 hours. The following day, it went into our rotation of sourdough loaves. The levain was very active, and using a 71.8% hydration formula, the loaf produced was tasty, had a nice tangy flavor and a good crumb. we are finishing the third loaf of this culture. I highly recommend it. The seller is great for communication. He sends the 55 gram culture in a tightly wrapped plastic jar. I may use his other cultures.

This is the first sourdough I've been successful with and it's AMAZING! It arrives in a little jar, with very concise instructions on how to feed and manage the starter, which I really appreciated. my starter became active day one after feeding and by day 3 we were making two loaves of sourdough! I am beyond happy and would highly recommend this Starter to everyone! Oh, they also guarantee it to grow. It's very active, it WILL grow!

The starter came alive and active very quickly, in about three days. But it was not quite ready to bake with yet, my mistake. I will continue to feed it for another few days to get it very active. My trial with making my own starter over a four week period just did not work out for me, so that is why I purchased this item. It arrived quickly.

Wasn’t until i was deep diving the sourdough starter sites on FB that I came across blog in regards to sour dough starter. The amount you receive at time if recipe is plenty of starter as you feed it immediately upon receipt. It bubbled up very nicely and even though my first loaf never rose it smelled and tastes extremely yummy.

This starter is fabulous!! It came active with great instructions. I followed them and was able to bake with it in a few days. I’ve had it going for three months and it’s very stable and super active! Best purchase!

The starter came sooner than the estimated delivery date. Today is day three and it is highly active! I had a question on discard of excess starter before the next feeding, so emailed the seller today on Sunday and didn’t expect to get an answer until during the week. The seller responded within a couple of hours – on a Sunday! You cannot go wrong with this seller or the starter. The quality of the starter is excellent and the customer service is excellent as well!
