Lixit 35cc hand feeding syringe

Cathi February 10, 2025

This syringe is great to help with tube feedings or regular feeding syringe. Easy to see the numbers on the syringe %26 to use it.

You gotta learn how to use em

pearlheartgtr December 7, 2009

I just read the previous review and I have a few things to point out. 1. No one should be selling unweaned birds. It doesn't make a difference in their temperment. 2. No one without prior professional assisstance should take on hand feeding an unweaned bird. With that said, sometimes the plungers in any syringe can be tough to push or they might get stuck. To combat this, dip the black part of the plunger into the foumula (or other liquid being used for) before using. It will coat the plunger and make it easy to use and you won't have any problems. With the numbers wearing off, well, I've never had that problem in such a short period of time. I've had the numbers last on these syringes for years. The customer most likely was scrubbing the outside of the syringe and that's why they rubbed off. But it also goes back to not having enough experience in handfeeding birds. After a while, you are able to eyeball it since A) You would eventually learn where the markers were by the amount of formula in the syringe and B) Someone qualified with a lot of experience knows how to check a bird's crop and/or judge when the bird has had too little or too much.

Perfect to Administer Laxatone

KimWilson May 30, 2014

One of our cats will not easily take Laxatone from the tube and if we try to put a small amount in her mouth, she will try to get it out and all over her fur, the furniture, etc. With this 10 ml oral syringe, we can put it in the syringe (on the plunger side) and squeeze the Laxatone behind the cat's tongue so she gets what she needs. We love it, my husband suggested I get one. We store it in a ziplock bag afterwards to use later.

Great for Critical Care Feedings

Paskaan June 21, 2017

These syringes are nice and the rubber doesn't fatigue too quickly. When cleaned properly, they withstand many uses.

This product is short lived

djphillips April 6, 2012

I purchased 5 of the 35ml feeding syringes to feed a baby goat. This baby goat was fed 4 times a day with the feeding syringe. New, they worked perfectly; the plunger would easily slide up and down within the syringe. The sucking action of the baby goat would cause the plunger to slowly descend into the syringe. After about 8 uses the plunger was difficult to push into the syringe and hard to remove. I have gone through 4 of these syringes in two weeks. I did reorder some of this item because it is what I need to feed her for a few more weeks. I don't know what caused them to deteriorate so fast but I was disappointed that they did not last longer. I am going to look for other brands to see if there is anything on the market that will last longer than a couple of days.

Waste

Rosalie January 15, 2008

I recently brought home an unweaned sun conure, meaning I have to hand feed her twice day. I bought four of these syringe's at full retail price, thinking that four would be plenty to last until she is eating on her own. Unfortunately, all four broke within the first 3 weeks of me using them. In all four, the black part poped out and got stuck inside the syringe. I tried to fix them by spending time pulling out the black part and reattaching it to the pusher, but eventually they all popped out again. Also, the measurements all wore off in the first two weeks - and all I used was warm water to clean them. I ended up having to throw them all away and buying new ones elsewhere.
