With gel polish you need the LED light to cure it. it has 3 timers. it took a little longer to cure than the salon ones.

Haven't used it yet, so I can't give it a good rating. Besides, I ordered the nail dryer that could be used on both gel and acrylic but didn't receive it. I ordered it, because of the high rating it had.
