Ordinarily I would not have tried a barbecue that I was not familiar with . And honestly Kansas City has some of the best barbecue in the country, in my opinion. But a friend served this for lunch and I loved it. For a quick meal in a pinch this is super. I add a little of my favorite brand of sauce when using on a sandwich.
I like the flavor of the barbecue sauce and the fact that the meat is already shredded. I've been having some dental work done and this has certainly come in handy. if I am out and about I like the Dairy Queen barbecue with slaw. This lets me get that same experience at home. I have been snowed and iced in for about 2 weeks now. A friend shoveled the sidewalk and made a path to the car for me yesterday. I'm thinking about putting some of the barbecue in muffin tins and freezing them so that I will have the right amount for one when I'm ready. This is a pretty big container, and I'm not eating it everyday so I don't want any of it to go bad.
I used to get the other “famous” liquor maker brand. Was disappointed with the amount of meat and overly sweet sauce. Lloyds is a much better value in my opinion. There is more meat ( can always add sauce if you like that) and it tastes more like homemade pulled pork, not too sweet.
Always my go to .. Last minute dinner.. Throw your pulled pork in your crockpot, top it with a container of pre-made Mac and Cheese, do a zig-zag of your favorite bbq sauce over the top. Place the lid on the crockpot H-4 hours , L-6 hours or until heated through, serve over mashed potatoes!! Crusty garlic bread. Optional to serve a green salad on the side .. 😋 Don't forget summertime lemonade.
This is the easiest dinner and tastes excellent. I serve them just like sloppy joes. Theres never a complaint and no leftovers! perfect for a busy day
This pulled pork has a great flavor, but I do wish there were more chunks of meat in there. There's a lot of sauce, severaly thin shreds of pork without a lot of substance to them, but the chunks or thicker pieces are hard to find. Regardless, we enjoy this on top of mac n' cheese (Bob Evans to be exact) for a quick heat n' serve meal that satisifies the entire family. My kids think it tastes just as good as some of the bbq brisket %26 mac I've paid a lot of money for at eateries.
The sauce was very good, but the meat was "meat sawdust" Little tiny pieces of meat in a lot of sauce. I don't know what kind of forks they use to claim this was pulled pork. It was like it went through a meat grinder. Reminded me of cheap canned dog or cat food! ugh. We were very disappointed.....
gross! We used to prefer Lloyd's bbq pork over all other name brands, so we were excited to have it again as a quick %26 easy dinner tonight... Soo disappointed and now going to bed hungry. This stuff tastes so nasty, I choked down half the sandwich and threw the rest away! it doesn't even taste like BBQ sauce of any kind, and it's mostly sauce with very little "meat" in it. We definitely won't be buying this again.
Not sure what this garbage is. Should be illegal to advertise or sell as BBQ. You know there is something seriously wrong with this when dumped in a pan and given to a stray dog. The dog backed away! In my opinion, Anyone, that thinks this stuff is good or is BBQ, needs professional help. Walmart should be ashamed to even have on shelves.
I was expecting more meat and less sauce. The sauce was over powering and way too much for the amount of meat. It looked like dog food and the texture was similar to dog dots when you accidentally got it on your fingers. Sorry but this is not my cup of tea so to speak. I would NOT recommend this item.
