An excellent cookware. It requires very little maintenance. It cooks evenly whether on top of the stove or in it. The Dutch oven is non stick as long as you apply a little butter or vegetable oil. or cooking spray. The one thing I would highly recommend is never use metal utensils in it. The enamel glass finish will be damaged over time and everything will begin to stick. A lesson I had to learn the hard way .

I use this primarily for bread baking and it has changed my game! Love it. I thought the size might be too big but it has worked great and the quality and color are unbeatable for the price. Get one !

great pot for everyday cooking

Stormcloud04 December 21, 2008

I saw this pot on sale at local wal mart for 15$ and bought it right away knowing the value. I absolutely love using it!! My only concern is how durable the enamel is on it. i have used many other cast iron pans and love the way they cook. This one cooks food evenly and at lower temps wich is great. It heats up rather quickly so be careful. Noticed that handle on lid is just screwed in but haven't had any problems with this yet. My boyfriend and i had looked a other more expensive brand but fell in love with this one.

Lifetime cooking pot for a GREAT value

Cookingmom3 November 22, 2013

Love this cooking pot. Cooks with even heat distribution (I have an electric cooktop), everything from stews to chicken picata comes out thick and robust. The lid fits tight so juices stay inside. Cleans easily. Great value that is very versatile. It is heavy, but that is what makes it so great. It should be stored with small rubber attachments so lid doesn't chip pot.

An must have in the kitchen!

iwontlie January 13, 2014

I purchased in December and have used numerous times already. I roasted a pork roast, chili, and pot roast with vegetables as well as making a large batch of pasta sauce. I love that you can put in the frig because it is enameled cast iron. Although I gave it 5 stars on everything, it is however a bit heavy, as I have severe muscle weakness. Wish there was a 5 quart as it might make this issue better, their 3 quart they have is to small for my needs. I read several reviews where they said it chipped or changed color or the enamel burnt, I find this almost impossible as I have not had this issue and as I stated I have used numerous times. Clean up is quick and easy. This purchase will be one of the best you'll ever make for your kitchen.

Great quality and value for this 6 Qt. Dutch Oven.

Andy206 November 20, 2013

I had to replace all of my pots and pans because we purchase an Induction Cooktop. I did a great deal of research on-line and in-stores before I made my purchases. I found that the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron cookware had extremely high ratings and were much more econmically priced than other manufacturerers. Walmart On-line had the best priced Lodge products of all. This was the first time that I have ordered from the Walmart Site. I ordered 3 Lodge Cast Iron Enameled Pots and skillets plus one cast iron chicken fryer. In that we were moving to our new condo and 10 days, I needed the items quickly in order to cook at home. The Walmart Site was easy, the emailed estimated time of arrival helpful, and best of all, each item arrived ON TIME! This 6 Qt. Dutch oven is great! Having just received it, I have only used it once for a large pot of Spaghetti Sauce. It did a great, quick job of browning the ground turkey and pork sausage, simmering the sauce, keeping the sauce warm for serving, and keeping the leftovers in the refrigerator. Only down side is that it is heavy. I am very happy that I chose this item.

Great bargain, great performance.

I am impressed with the quality of the enamel. Lodge always makes great cast iron cookware and this pot is no exception. I have made a chuck roast, pork ribs and tomorrow; venison chili for the playoffs. I only gave 4 stars for durability due to the fact that I have not used this Dutch oven very long. It looks like it will be a 5 star item in that respect if it is treated properly. That means not using metal utensils on it.

Lodge Enameled Cast Iron 6 Quart Dutch Oven

MissMia August 6, 2016

We have always like our Lodge cast iron pans. WE have had them for years. Using them inside and outside. When the enameled cast iron came out we bought 2, a red 3.5 quart and an red oval one. We used them all the time. So when we decided to go for a larger pan and we wanted an enamel one. I wanted another red one but after seeing some cooking shows I ordered a green one. I love it. we have used it at least 2 times a week for soups, chili, pot roast. It works beautifully. From oven to burners. I am careful because in the past the enamel has chipped. So I am careful with putting the top on and off and placing it on the shelf. I give it a ten.

Good quality for the price

Rtownwife February 17, 2014

I've used this several times already. It's a very good dutch oven. Cleans up easily and cooks very evenly. Can use on the stovetop or in the oven. I think we will be using it for years to come. The only one very minor negative I've found is that the bottom is rounded and not as straight sided as some of the more pricier ones which makes the bottom surface area not as big as I was expecting- For example: It can brown about 3 chicken breasts at one time. I doubt it would fit a whole beef tenderloin. It's not a huge problem for me though. We got it in the purple and it looks great. All in all a good product!

Great value

WML5 October 10, 2016

In a side by side comparison the The Lodge's capacity is 6 qt vs Le Creuset 6-3/4 qt. Lodges porcelain finish is not as smooth, it has more orange peel compared to Le Creuset both inside and out. Both have fairly large handles and I actually preferred the handles on the Lodge compared to the Le Creuset a little more room for larger hands. Le Creuset had straighter sides which added a little more cooking surface on the bottom of the pot compared to the Lodge which had a more curved side reducing the overall cooking surface slightly so you may have to sear more batches. The Lodge Dutch oven had a more domed lid compared to the Le Creuset which had a flatter lid. The Le Creuset gives you a little edge in overall height if your oven is tight on space. As you can tell from my comparison it was more nit picking then anything else when comparing the two. While the Lodge is not a Le Creuset in it's fit and finish it is also 5 times less expensive and performs just as well in my opinion. You can't go wrong with the Lodge porcelain enamel dutch oven.
