Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder, Black

I bought a small pot with a lid for boiling eggs in the Badic Home line of Walmarts. I liked that the lid had a draining spout. The only thing I disliked about this little pot was that the stainless steel handle gets quite hot when boiling anything for any length of time. I burned myself once then ordered this for it, as I like the pot so much except for that. This handle slips on easily and protects from burns on your hand. I just leave it on there all the time.

A must have if you have the lodge large skillet. Very good quality.

It's too easy to grab a hot cast iron handle without thinking, so I slip this handle on as soon as I start cooking, and don't have to worry about it. Easy to get on/off.

Handle can be a little sloppy on your particular pan but it won't slide around and it is much better than an oven mitt. Great for stove to table. I bought several more so I can keep one with each skillet.

The Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder is well made, unfortunately it was too long for my cast iron skillet. Was looking to exchange it for a shorter one, but couldn't find one. Unfortunately, I had to return it.

It is ok, but I have REAL cast iron so it gets really HOTT!!! It keeps the heat at bay for maybe 6 or 7 seconds. Like I said though I cook with REAL HEAT and REAL cast iron. You probably will not burn yourself, but you can feel the heat coming through the silicone.

Bought this with the hope it would take the heat away from the handle when the pan is lifted. Instead it is dangerous because it fits too loosely on the handle and could slip off and a hot pan could fall on you. It might be a better product if it fit the handle tighter and the chance of this occurring would be lessened.

This ISN'T a silicone handle- it's a sleeve. It fits VERY loosely onto the Lodge 12" frying pan. It slips right off, too, so be careful when you're trying to hold the pan with it. It does keep the heat off your hand, but I feel it presents another danger- that of the heavy pan full of hot food slipping out of your hand.

The item does not have the thickness to handle the heat from a cast iron pan. The pan I used was only an 8" pan used for egg and sausage. It did not take very long for the handle to be too hot to hold.
