easy setup-have it working with smartthings and Alexa-very easy integration. Helps if you're familiar with harmony remote activity setup, but not required. Strong IR-have it under tv facing out, and IR bounces off walls and controls equipment in entertainment center. If needed, comes with one IR mini blaster for hard to reach equipment. Was able to keep using old legacy Logitech remote 610 as well by disabling power off commands. Definitely recommend this product.
I love it but it doesn't seem to like the new Vizio TVs. The power button does not work without some tweaking but I eventually got it. The software does randomly disconnect from the hub which can be very annoying. But overall it's very cool. I bought a Samsung galaxy tab 8 2019 to use only for a remote. I have only used it with a TV and surround sound so far.
Item is used and did not include original power cord or IR blaster. Power cord I was sent does not work properly.
I purchased the Harmony Hub at my local Walmart in December 2017 to use with my Google Home. Now that I've owned it a year, I think I've spent 8-12 HOURS programming it and have used it only once or twice. It doesn't improve anything, it rarely works and makes me frustrated. I end up just going for the remote. Every time Harmony updates their app you have to re-program from scratch, every time Google Home updates their app...you have to reprogram from scratch. You end up spending your time re-programming something that if very un-intuitive to begin with. Here's an example of the last re-programming instructions you are given" Favorite Channels require a Watch TV Activity type, this is not the same as Watch Smart TV, Watch Roku, or any other Activity renamed to read Watch TV." Huh?
First, this is a refurb not a new product as the website implies. Second, the Logitech Hub is not a reliable piece of hardware/software. It seems some people get it to work okay, many don't or if they do it eventually goes bad and they have to return it. I'm a computer programmer now, was a computer hardware guy for years and have used Harmony 650 remotes for years as well so I know how to set products up and know the Harmony Activity setup programming quite well. Setup for this device is problematic to the point where it was pretty much unusable. Trying to install via the Iphone (which it says you can do) would stop at the point where it was demanding that I connect the remote (there is no remote, I'm using the Iphone!!) Tried connecting my harmony 650 remotes or even usb the iphone but no luck, no connection, stuck in setup right there, dead end. Finally just used the PC setup process and the myHarmony software but couldn't get past the "Add a device" screen, had the hub as an option but clicking on the line did nothing. Finally figured out if I unplugged and replugged the hub from power when that screen was up it would recognize the hub and continue in the setup. Finally got it setup but then it was spastic controlling the devices (all of which it had recognized the model numbers of so it said it was okay). Most were IR devices so I held the hub up directly in front of them but still spastic control. Finally the light on the front of the hub just turned red and was locked there for over an hour and then later turned green again. This product just isn't worth the hassle. Amazon reviews show many people with similar problems. Even when they do get it working it often dies at some point down the road. As one reviewer commented, why do you think they have so many refurbs available, because so many people have returned them.
